I have got a G20, which I am going to reload for soon. If you wanted to buy ammo go to Underwood ammo for good deals. I hear their velocities are accurate as well. I have not shot any of it though. Just my .02 cents.

I had a G20 for years and loved it. But I finally sold it because of the cost of ammo.I reload but do most of my shooting in the woods and could never find the brass because the Glock launches it into a low orbit. Thats why I prefer sa big bores myself.
I now have a G22 and I am happy with it. Have tons of ammo and can go to wally world for more. The 40 seems to have plenty enough power for me. But I do miss the 10 especially when I see Ted Nugent blast away with his.
ps I may have a bunch of ammo and some clips and holster for sale this coming Monday if my buddy doe'snt buy it.

You never mentioned what you plan to do with this pistol. If it is just punching paper whatever catches your fancy works.
I am guessing from your handle that you have a Glock 23, a fine carry gun. A 10mm probably won't make much improvement, over 40 short and weak, in your average self-defense scenario. A G29 is close to the same size as a G23. I prefer a full size gun in the 10mm to wring out maximum velocity gains. I see the G20 as an ideal candidate for a woods carry gun. A fairly heavy bullet, at a relatively high velocity, with high capacity makes you feel safe like your wrapped up in your dad's old coat. The light weight to payload ratio provides comfort on the trail. If old ursus horribilis roams your backyard, you might want to step up to a .44 mag. I have a G20 SF with a grip reduction, 3.5# connector, wolff 22# spring and steel guide rod, with a six inch lone wolf barrel. Makes a nice wilderness carry gun, as does a stock G20. Unfortunatly they won't ever look as pretty as the DW's Olympus is showing off.

Eh, the 10mm doesn't do much for me. I had a G20 for awhile, finally got rid of it.

What does the 10mm do for EDC that the smaller more affordable calibers don't? The 9mm, .40, and .45 are all very good calibers. Further, I think most people agree that it's less about hardware and more about software. So, unless you have an unlimited budget for ammo, presumably you'll practice less with the 10mm than say the 9mm. And shot placement is typically the deciding factor...

If you want a 10mm, buy one and see for yourself. I like the caliber, but it did push me to start reloading.

I shoot about the same number of rounds each week, be it 45acp, .40, or 10mm.

10mm is probably the most powerful round you can have in a pistol that can be considered high capacity and still a somewhat realistic gun to carry. As a combination it's nothing short of awesome and it's strange that it has been neglected and almost forgotten for a quarter of a century.

It's definitely not for everybody, full power ammo can be really brutal, but fi you have a good idea what you're doing and won't flinch when there's some recoil and muzzle blast, it can hold its own against virtually any other caliber in existence.

10mm in my mind means slower follow up shots, more costly ammo, larger frame (harder to carry), more risk of overpenetration, etc.

It's plain and simple!

If you want the best auto pistol round ever developed you will own a 10mm. Period end of subject! If you must compare it to other's. It smokes a .357 mag and is on the heels of the the .41 mag. The .40 S&W is a BS complaisance round. Even the .357 Sig makes the .40 S&W look like child's fodder. But the 10mm and .357 Sig are hated on because the general public and Leo's are forced to carry and shoot substandard ammo now day's. Not to mention the troops that have to shoot and carry near worthless 9mm Nato ball in war because a bunch over over educated idiots with power made a dissension. Not that one person who made the the rules of engagement in the long run will ever have to deal with the issue face to trigger.

If you don't want to be part of the revelation. Don't shoot the 10mm. And for the love of God. Don't complain when a 10mm shooter or a evil 9x25 shooter out shoots you off hand with a hand gun at 100 yards or 7 yards. And to a 10mm shooter its a .40 with purpose.

It's the real .40

Love my Kimber target 10mm. Can load it up or down. Need to have a selection of springs though, the really heavy loads will otherwise lock the slide back on my gun. It is the most fun gun for handload experimentation I've ever had.

@psystack

I'm guessing you've never been shot with a 9mm or .40 cal... or maybe you have and it just harmlessly bounced off. The 9mm is attributed with a few more kills than the 10mm. The 9mm is chambered in many more guns than the 10mm. The 9mm is carried in every gunstore that carrys ammo in the world. The 10mm is not. The 9mm is about 1/2 the cost as the 10mm. The 9mm kills people just as dead as the 10mm.

Words like "substandard ammo," "worthless 9mm..." etc. are quite harse...

Remind me how the 10mm is "superior" to that inferior 9mm that has been battle tested and proven since the early 1900's...

Lead stick to your 9 and never own a 10 then. I have both and two 10's but nothing wrong with the poster or anyone else getting one. Plenty of 10mm offerings and growing! A Glock 20 or 29 is a wash on price with any Glock 9mm.

Prosser 45 super doesn't get there. Now you are talking a round and firearm you can really not get!

CDW4ME- love it, that explains everything perfectly!!!

any 10mm experts ever shoot 40 cal without changing barrels? seems like I read somewhere that it's like shooting 38 spcl in a 357 mag, the bullet just needs to jump a little further to engage the rifling and will do no harm?

my buddy has a rare Springfield Omega 10mm, 6 in barrel, kinda 1911 like. coolest pistol I've ever seen. pretty heavy though. I'll get pics next time I see it.

Intercooler, PLEASE READ my previous posts. I DID own a 10mm. I made an informed decision to sell it because it served me no purpose, for the reasons I've already stated.

I own a G20 and have been shooting it for years, both in competitive and hunting environments. The cartridge is about as versatile as you can get and still have a manageable semi-automatic delivery platform. It can be fed ammunition ranging from "it just sneaks into major PF" realm to "dropped the deer at 100 yards" power.

Same bullets as the .40 S&W with a higher top end. About the same performance as a .41 Mag, if you want it. Factory ammunition is not plentiful, but is available. If you purchase ammo on line, then you will be fine. It is not a 9mm, 40 S&W or .45 ACP. It can match all three in terms of power levels, and step well beyond if the need arises.

It is not the end all, but if I could have a single pistol cartridge...it would be 10mm Auto. Only you can decide if it is right for you. Reloading is the only economical way I have found to fully appreciate the 10mm Auto. If you are willing to got there with it, then it would have to come with my recommendation.
