Should I Throw My NRA Ballot in the Trash?

Or we could let you advise us on the proper way to vote.
If one believes voting in ignorance, or voting for people you disagree with is to be advised… they may just need some voting advise.

In the spirit of THR, I’ll bow out. You can have the last word.

FWIW, I also have pretty much stopped giving to the NRA, I am a GOA life member, a SAF life member, have been a FPC member for several years and currently give to all, except the NRA.

Bashing the NRA is anti-gun. Plain and simple. And that's all fine and good if that is all you want to do. But don't expect those of us that have been NRA members for 50+ years to give you any credibility or respect. We have fought gun battles for decades for gun rights that others are so willingly able to whine about and say that our methods are wrong. We have put in the work. What gives you that right? How about something NRA positive on this thread. It may be pro-gun and gag you for a moment but give it a try.

If Wayne LaPierre himself were to post here I imagine his comments would be substantively the same as these.

A doctor advising you that Grandma needs cancer treatment isn’t anti-grandma. It’s anti-cancer.

I am not the one seeking voting advise here. I am a 50+ year NRA member and a GOA member. And I don't go around bashing pro-gun organizations. In the spirit of the THR you can certainly advise someone. Be advised I will not be one of them.

Wow! What I said went completely over your head....... Look up, see the pretty contrails? Willfully blind or just having difficulty with context and comprehension?

You didn't. I apologize. I mixed you up with someone else. I hope that you will forgive me.
Also I'm not sure who you were responding to but most of what I've read in this thread isn't people bashing the NRA but bashing the NRA leadership. Deserved or not they are in a bad position and the negative press (correct or not) have convinced many NRA members that the leadership is corrupt and needs to go. Remember, perception is everything.

Perception, with all due respect, after 55 years of NRA membership.
Everyone has their perception. Basically LaPierre turned the NRA into a political powerhouse which made him a number one target for anti-gunners and others. They found something to attack him with and jumped on him with both feet. Unfortunately a large percentage of members and potential future members are now ticked off to put it mildly and the fact that LaPierre controls the board didn't help his image either. That said he and the current board are politically like an albatross tied around the NRA's neck and as in any war assets that are no longer assets or have become detriments to the prosecution of that war must be let go. No one is indispensable.

"Those who vote decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything."

Stalin historians deny it was him.

My candidates:
Tim Sullivan of Tammany Hall, New York City, who got the Sullivan Act passed to disarm rival poll watchers ....
The Crump Machine of Memphis, who made the mistake of trying to expand into East Tennessee ...
The Daley Machine in Chicago ...

The only good thing about the nra is the gun grabbers seem to think it's the only pro gun organization in existence, allowing no compromise groups like goa and fpc free reign to actually do something.

Since the 1960s the NRA has been the prime boogeyman obsession of the antigun crowd, especiallly since NRA testified (as a tax-exempt education association of gun owners) against Senator Joseph B Tydings' national gun registration bill. LBJ complained when he signed the 1968 Gun Control Act that his pet project, federal registration of all civilian firearms, was not included. (A federal Sullivan Act was FDR's original intent with what became the 1934 National Firearms Act: the NRA was blamed for blocking including handguns under NFA.) When NRA was blamed for defeating 1968 GCA national gun registration, some nameless congressperson then asked the FBI to investigate NRA as an unregistered lobby to revoke its educational tax exempt status. (Other anti-gun senators, Jacob Javitts and Thomas Dodd said it was not them. Tydings neither confirmed or denied.) Dec 1968 NRA decided to form and register a separate lobbying arm which ended the FBI investigation. One of its first orders of business was to lobby for the defeat of Tydings' reelection bid in 1970. Which is why the antigun Democrats are so obsessed with destroying NRA. If NRA is gone, expect them to turn their focus on SOF, GOA, or anyone else supporting gun rights or criticizing gun control.
