Came from Brownells:

I'm a dealer though, so I bought it wholesale. Can't say the discount, but it was obviously lower than the posted retail price.

I know McMillan is the standard, but for a stock with the same features from McMillan (the A3-5 with the integral adjustable cheek piece, three way adjustable butt pad, and bi-pod rail) would run ~$845.

I ended up having to buy the donor rifle retail, 'cause I couldn't find one with any of my distributors. Even at that, I only paid $800 for the entire original rifle. Can you see where I'm going with this?

I refuse to spend more on a stock than I did for the entire core rifle, especially when the B&C is as stiff a stock as I have seen, and cost just over half what the McMillan would have.

Some folks may disagree, and I'm cool with that, but for me, it was a no-brainer.

I didn't know that B&C was that good, I bought an HS, because I thought it was better because the Army uses it.

I do like the non-adjustable tactical model, looks like a good budget McMillian, that dose not have to be bedded.

I had always thought that too, until I shot a rifle that had an HSP stock on it.

Now that I have, I'm not impressed.

I've still got the take off from my 700P, if anyone wants to try it out. I'd take $355+shipping for it, maybe it'll fit someone else better than it fit me.

I believe it's either 50 or 60 in*lbs, I'd have to go look it up to be sure which it is.

EDIT: It's 60 in*lbs.

In my digging, I figured out why this stock is so stiff.

It's got a solid core all right, solid aluminum, all the way from the pistol grip plum up to the tip of the fore end.

That's be why it's so heavy too. Carbon composite bonded to a near full length aluminum bed.

No wonder it's stiff as a tuxedo leg on prom night. ;)
