The last several sets have been almost too nice for me to let go. I'm actually ordering another 1911 this week just so I can make myself a new set to go on them. That's what I love about 1911 grips. Such a quick and relatively inexpensive part can change the whole look of your gun.

I admit it...I've got a problem!

Ivory Triple Diamonds

Hello group,I just want to share with you my handy work!

I always wanted grips with Ivory inlays but never could find any, soooo I found Real Vintage Ivory piano keyes and went to work.

About 1 1/2 hr later I had my "Holy Grail/Triple Diamond Grips"

The first set of photos are of the frist pair I inlaid (Walnut fine checkering).

I have inlaid three pair of grips (Walnut,Cocobolo),I really like the look and will more then likely turn the rest of my grips into the same style.

Thank you for stopping by.

Kimber Cherry wood:

Sarges Brazillian Rosewood ( I think, it's hard keeping all these wood types straight) I'd kill for a set of his Red Aboyna Burls.

VZ Slimgrips:

I'm trying next, a fullsize set of VZ Tactical Diamond grips for better grip during IDPA like events.

Nothing fancy here, all of mine were rubber grips from Kimber. Although they aren't pretty, they work well enough and are inexpensive.

Although I will admit I'm drooling a little bit due to the pics...

Just Bought these Bull Head Walnut...Attached to a PT1911 :)

Nice Stuff Olympus!

I Love The Spalted Maple, Ironwood, and Burl!

Some of my favorites

I have used the Ironwood a lot for knife handles as well as the Spalted Maple.

Beautiful Wood!

That's some cool stuff. Looks a lot like abalone.

yes.. thats what it was... abalone acrylester. I bought the blocks from woodturningz.com . They're intended for use as pen blanks for those who turn custom pens on lathes. I also bought a big block of wild african olivewood from them. It looks really cool too. I have made grips from lucite and briar too.

Shot to failure. :)
