Greetings Gentlemen and Ladies(?)-
I'm new to this forum and pretty new to [participation in] forums in general, but an old hand at the web. Though I'm not new to firearms (yet somewhat new to anything more than intermittent, adolescent blasting— about time, I'm 52), finally working on a bit of precision as well as fun, and I'm going to be new to reloading this Spring. As a grey collar working stiff with a suburban mortgage, two tuition bills, and four old vehicles, reloading not only presents as an natural extension to my hobby appealing to my tinkerer temperament but also as a practical aspect in minding my increasingly scarce "extra" pennies. I own a mere even dozen firearms (adding maybe a Rem 870 in the foreseeable future) and plan to reload for 9mm x 19 and .38spl for starters. After long research far beyond my normal patience and attention span I’ve settled upon the Lee LoadMaster (kit for 9mm), probably from Midway. I'm setting up a 9x12 shed in the backyard (will be complete with heat and AC as of the end of this coming weekend!) in which to place my gun bench, currently located in the shop out in the garage. I have one friend who reloads, Hornady single stage only, and he now lives some 800mi from me (seven years ago I moved my family from the People’s Socialist Republic of Massachusetts to the Charlotte, NC area to study theology. I really like it here). He's been a great help but as I'm going Lee progressive...
I came to this forum because after many months of browsing the surprisingly many existing gun forums out there I've found this one to be, IMO, of quality, distinctly mature yet diverse. And I could use a bunch of that positive kind of influence. Hope I come up to speed soon.
Well, I've gone long in the way of introduction. I'll be asking a lot of questions (not too many really dumb ones, hopefully) and hope to soon have something to offer in return as well.
From the Parapet,
James
