Who else has this model?

I just ordered my first. This pistol feels nice, and is absolutely gorgeous. I like the balance and weight much more so than the alloy framed Sigs. If given the choice, I think I'd buy strictly steel framed Sigs in the future (unfortunately, only the 226ST and 220ST offer steel frames at the moment).

Anyone else that owns the 220 ST really like it much?

I'll post results after I shoot it the first time.
 
I've never owned the 220 ST but I plan to after I return from a business/pleasure trip I've got to make.

I've owned the standard 220, 226 and 230. The 220 was as accurate as my completely tricked out 1911, and the 220 was stock.

Sig cannot be beat. And I looked (drooled) at one last week. The heft feels great. The ergonomics are the best I ever seen. And the grip feels like lambskin.

Yes, Lord willing, I intend to own one a.s.a.p.

Let me know how she shoots. I reload, but intend to buy 500 rounds Wolf ammo just to break it in.

BTW, the best I can find locally is $725. May I ask how much your is?
 
I overpaid, no doubt about it (around $800 before taxes and DROS). However, with all the anti-gun regulations in this state (including mandatory trigger locks and/or proving you have a safe), its been several years since I've found a deal as good as neighboring states. I actually received quotes as high as $950 for the 220 ST from some gun stores, so considering the price of them around here (and the apparent scarcity) I don't mind overpaying to get a model I always wanted.

SIG Model 220ST

I love this pistol. I have had no problems with this pistol and it feeds and fires everything I have tried in it. I just got it back form the SIG Custom Shop. I had the Action Enhancement Package and the barrel re-crowned to 11 degrees. The single action trigger is smooth, with no stacking. The double action has to be tried to believe how smooth it is. SIG's Custom Shop is the greatest. They received the gun on September 13th and I got it back on September 30th. The work they did made a great pistol even better.

My Sig 220ST is my favorite .45ACP pistol. The trigger is fantastic and the lock up is excellent! Great pistol!!!!! I am hooked on the Sig ST series pistols!
 
I have a P220ST and love it. I did run into an extractor issue, and sent it back for warranty work - took advantage of SIG picking up the shipping to have them also do an action/trigger job on it, put on a fiber optic front sight, and also do an 11 degree crown on the barrel. They did a fantastic job improving an already great trigger (in fact I had specified they only do the action job if they thought they could improve it, as it already had the best DA/SA trigger I've felt - well they DID improve it!).

Sorry, did a straight cut & paste.

The dealer paid about $700 for the pistol itself new, plus $30 for UPS/Fed Ex.

$725 is a very good price. If it's a used gun in good shape, it's probably reasonable, since there aren't many ST's out yet.

I have the 220ST also. Its the finest pistol I own. Super accurate and so far 100% reliable with any ammo I feed it. Oh and its beautiful especially since I added some Houge Pau Ferro wood grips.

My 220 ST is my most accurate gun. Tight as a bank vault. I believe I purchased mine for less than $700, but it was a couple of years ago, and mine has the old rail :)( ). Still, it is insanely accurate, and I have put a deposit down for a 226 ST because of it. That's how much I liked my 220 ST.
 
I'm thinking of getting the 226ST as well in the future.....in 9mm. Anyone have the 226ST in 9mm and can share their experiences?
 
The cost of the Action Enhancement package was $120 and the re-crowning of the barrel was $20. The shipping was $25. Go to www.sigarms.com and then click on Custom Shop for a breakdown of what they do and the cost.
"The purpose of barrel crowning is to allow the uniform expansion of the gasses propelling the bullet. It is most often seen on rifle barrels. The goal is to create a smooth transition surface at the rifling free of nicks which would destablize the bullet. By recessing the transition zone, it is providing additonal protection. One thing about the 226 ST (that you probably already know): They're kinda scarce right now, and priced accordingly. Not impossible to get, but demand still outweighs supply. I'll be getting mine in a couple of weeks, I'll post feedback then.
 
Wino what is the beneifit of having the 11 degree crown? A general 220 question. Which rail accept Surefire lights the new rail or the old rail?
 
The lights fit the newer rail. You can buy an adapter from SIG that will change the old rail to the new rail size.

Not quite. I've got a 232SL to go with my 220ST (I've got a 228 and 220 in alloy also). I generally carry the 220 alloy model because it's lighter, but the feel of the ST is awesome.
 
I've had my P220 ST for about 3 or 4 months now and love it. Solid as a rock and feels like it will last through several lifetimes of hard use. Functions 100% right out of the box with no hassles.

There's just something satisfying about an all steel autoloader, especially when it's a Sig!
 
My old-rail 220ST has been in my possession for two years, and I'm still enamoured with it. I've put countless thousands of rounds through it without any issues, and it is by far the most accurate of all of my dozen SIGs. I was fortunate enough to trade a Beretta 92 Inox for it, NIB.
I replaced the rear sight with an adjustable, switch springs depending on the power levels of my ammo, and replaced the mainspring to a lighter one in order to slightly decrease the DA pull.
 
$175 P220 ST...

...okay, okay...with Trade-in...had some Glock NDF "high caps" in June...got $45 each...applied to my USED P220ST...I paid $175 out of pocket.

Why this shop refuses to clean used pistols before putting a tag on them I'll never know. Cleaned up real nice and it's a shooter. I compete in IDPA and the Sig' beat out my 1911 as my CDP gun. I'll give it its first "official outing" in a couple of weeks.

I would note that for those that do compete with the P220ST, the Novak mag's (popular for their ~$20 price tag) did not drop-free in my P220ST. The factory 8 rounders do. No problems feeding with the Novak's, they just won't drop on their own during rapid reload drills.

Wonder if your Novak mags are a bit out of spec...I use eight 8-round Novak mags in nickel and blue and they all drop free and function flawlessly. I even have a dozen or so factory ss mags that I don't bother using anymore for comp, because they don't load the 8th round as easily as the Novak.
