I have a chance to purchase an older Sig 226 9mm offered as a certifed pistol by SigSauer for ~$600. It comes with 2--15rd. mags, box, operators manual, lock and the warranty equal to a new Sig pistol. No rail.
I believe this pistol is referred to as a CPO. This is touted as the USN Seals
gun. Anybody bought one of these rigs---comments?

600 is about the going rate for a CPO 226. I paid a bit more for the last CPO P-226 I bought, simply because I'd told myself the next time I found a rail-less SIG, I'd buy it ...

The CPOs are factory refurbished with new springs, small internals, new barrels or sights if necessary, cleaned up greatly and given brandnew magazines. Pretty much like buying a brandnew pistol, so, IMO -- well worth the price, especially if you get one of the older models ...

Then you can order the superb Mec-Gar 18 round flush-fit magazines and even the neat-o "plus-2" 20 rounders ...

In the past, I have purchased 3 CPO's (2 229's and a 220). All were in exceptional mechanical shape. They worked flawlessly and were very accurate. Cosmetics was 'good' but not perfect. I highly recommend the CPO's.

I have a couple of SIG 220STs that I picked up as CPO guns after they had been traded in by a LEA. They were in great shape with the only differences being that they had different style take-down levers...obviously one had been replaced.

I paid $600 for each of them, but this was a 3-4 years ago.

I thought the CPO guns carried a 1 year warranty...did that change?
