I have ordered a X5 9 MM and was wondering what would be the best ammo to use.

Many thanks for any input.

Which model of the X-5?

It would help if you listed what you were planning to use it for as it would affect the recommendations

It's the P226 X-Five Allround and I will be shooting bulleye at 45 feet.

Just wondering which would be best 115, 124 or 147

Thank You

With Sig's 1-10" twist rate I found that my X5 preferred 124gr and heavier bullets. The gun was stellar with a 124gr and 147gr Montana Gold FMJ's and Unique. Not that results with 115gr bullets were anything to scoff at.

Your best accuracy, when speed of the bullet arriving on target is going to be the 147 gr with it's longer bearing surface. The most accurate factory round I've shot in this weight is the 147gr JHP Super Match Sub-Sonic.

The most accurate SIG X-5 Allaround at this years Bianchi Cup was shooting 122gr Laser cast slugs loaded to about 1000fps to reduce the lead needed on the Mover

I've always been interested in an all round, but, nobody around here, that I know of has had one for me to fondle.:banghead:
