Get the SIG. It is reliable, and most of the worst bugs have been worked out of it, as I understand it.
In all seriousness, while I doubt the scientific reliability of these sorts of INTERNET rumor mongering/disgruntled gun owner reviews, one has to find a proxy for overall reliability and customer service, and when one brand experiences more on-line agony than another brand, there might be something to that "smoke," no?
Then
I get the feeling it's more than just a "few" issues. Anytime I read "Stickys" on how to deal with issues, I tend to take notice.
Have you had any problems with yours?

Ah, the ole' sticky standard. I don't know of any weapon sold that doesn't have some stickies posted somewhere on the INTERNET.
The biggest complaint I have heard against Robinson Arms, is they don’t deliver their promised new stuff on time. Never heard that in this industry before. Ask about the Magpul Mazada or this week it is called the BushMaster ACR, or……. I can’t buy it yet, but a lot of folks tell me what a great carbine it is, and they are going to get one as soon as they are available. WHY? VAPORWARE!
Other companies refuse to sell a semi Auto version of their carbine to me. Hell yes, as soon as I can, I want to do business with them. My kind of people, no doubt.
Or any of the HK models and or variants, try to use the phrase, "good customer service" and HK in the same sentence. No one living or dead has seen or heard of good service from HK.
SIG, I think the top rails are now being put on straight, and the hand guards that should have originally been on the rifle will be available ‘real soon‘ now. Should be a pretty good rifle once they get it together. ???. I know several folks happy with theirs.
AR variants, I understand some are better than others. I hope so after almost 50 years of trying. I am told COLT is the only one that is truly MILSPEC (I understand, they go for about 1300+/- before rails and other necessary attachments). And of course FN, but as stated above, they will not sell me one.
Many folks here have a much higher standard from the companies they deal with. My standard is pretty low. If it gets the people using it dead, I don’t want one. Where as most of the folks here will take one of those, and not buy from an outfit that they heard rumors about not having good customer service, maybe. No doubt I have much lower standards. But inspite of that, some folks are happy with theirs.
I will not buy/use an AR style weapon because friends of mine were killed and wounded because of the POS. I bagged and tagged the dead ones, and MedEvaced the wounded.
Here we are 40 years later, for me, and American troops are still being killed and captured because of the same POS. I will stop my rant right here. I have plenty more. You know, not INTERNET stuff, documented stuff, but that doesn’t seem to impress anyone.
Look, if you don't like something, fine, this is America, you don't need an excuse. Particularly a ginned up one. Are there features you might like or not like, of course. The forward weight is some of these new carbines, will help when tracking a moving target (look under shotguns). You may or may not need that.
But you folks with the higher standards are no doubt much smarter and a lot more experienced than I am. I just try to apply the same standards to everyones products, not just the one’s I am wanting or have or like. Just another stupid old guy.
Sheesh….
Go figure.
