bought the mosquito after reading all the negative threads about the weapon.First time I fired the pistiol every other round jamed and the next clip wasn't much better but I knew SIG did make fine weapons.I liked the feel of the gun and balance but the jamming had to be solved.Went to the gun smith who I bought the weapn from and the solution to the jamming problem is easy to solve, this weapon will not feed elcheapo rim fires. My winchesters jamed every other round bought federal high velocity 1265fps and cci spinners all my problems went the way of the wild coose. The triggers pull is a little heavy but with rounds fired and time shooting the pistol all will be to my likeing.Like all the guns I have owned it takes time and rounds shot to get to be a pair.
I DO LIKE THIS PISTOL IT IS EASY TO BREAK DOWN AND CLEAN WELL MADE AND THE PRICE IS RIGHT,SO IS THE AMMO TO SHOOT UNLIKE THE 45 AND 9MM.

I have one. Love it. Zero problems with CCI Mini-Mags as recommended by SIG.

Mine was pretty much flawless with CCI's also, except for the occasional rimfire failures. The DA/SA trigger works great on those occasions when the pesky little buggers choose not to spark off.

I sold my Mosquito for 2 reasons:
1. I bought a 22lr because everyone said I had to have a 22. I found out in short order I simply did not enjoy the caliber as others do. (Cost was not a factor as I reload my own 45's, 380's and 357SIGs.)
2. I sold it to buy a SIG P239/357SIG after getting hooked on the caliber by a US Air Marshal.

But, I sold it to a friend and still get to shoot it on occasion. I liked it because it felt nice in my hand and handles just like the other 2 SIGs I own.
Most all of the bad press came from the early production models.

I was really reluctant to even take mine to the range, after i found out all the bad press AFTER i bought it. But before shooting, and after reading i bought some stingers and mini mags and my Sig hasnt missed a beat. I love it. it feels like a big bore, points easily and is very accurate. For the money, it is a great plinker. Its light and compact, and fits inthe holster of my other Sigs.

i always hear this talk about problems with cheap ammo jamming and using higher velocity ammo as a cure with the mosquito and p22. is it cause the recoil spring is too stiff or the slide over weight for standard velocity ammo? i have the sw 22a, they too recommend hv loads but i have no problem with cheap ammo through it. i was also thinking about getting one of these fancy guns too.

Mine was decent, but I sold it to finance a .22 conversion for my 1911; that way, I could legitimately practice with what I CCW.

Fun gun, though.

If it feels good: SHOOT IT!!

Bought a new Mosquito standard version Black on Black in May, and it has been pretty much flawless through some 500 rounds of various ammo. The first 200 CCI Mini Mags went bang 100%, then 200 rounds of Winchester Super X, which also went 100%. It seems that the gun likes anything that is 1100fps or better, as every other brand we had on hand functioned fine in the Mosquito, until we crossed below the threshold, then we had a few problems with cycling. I'm sure once this thing is worn in a bit more, it will perform better and better. I like the mosquito, as it is very close in dimensions to my P6, which is what I carry. The whole general feel of the gun in hand, like practically all Sigs for me is just sweet. The trigger could be better, especially in double action but hey, it's a plinker (a pretty accurate one too). No prob to clean and maintain, like all Sigs, and I expect we will probably have a bunch of fun with this baby, especially with the price of ammo nowadays!!
