I bought a SIG mosquito because I really liked the way it felt in my hand. It's heavy and seemingly well built. Bought 250 rounds of CCI Velocitor ammunition (their 1435 fps 40 grain round) and here are the results.
The magazine is easy to load. Note I didn't say magazines. SIG is getting really cheap. On the first magazine of ammo, the unit misfed the final round about a bullet's width high. No big deal.
The trigger is not bad is single action. Double action is pretty strong. The pistol is not as accurate as my Ruger 22/45 Mark III. Oddly enough, I enjoy shooting it more. It's really comfortable. Over the next 240 rounds, I had the same mis feed on the last round of the cartridge about 3 times. None of these was a deal breaker for me. I could fire the pistol as fast as I could pull the trigger and it was flawless.
I've heard horror stories about this pistol. I don't have any of that to report. Takedown is really easy which is also a plus. Those little CCI's i was using were quite powerful for 22lr, more like shooting Magnums than 22lr. They are fast and hit hard.
I like the pistol very much. Since it's just a plinker, I'll give it a B+. It's very much a keeper. I also like the fact that it appears to be all polymer and not a combo of plastic and pot metal. I could be wrong though.
Accuracy at 10 to 20 yards is good, at 50 yards it's not as deadly accurate as the Mark III which is pinpoint at that distance.
If anyone knows why (other than it's a &##* SIG Mosquito) the last round of the magazine sometimes gets flipped up a bit high, let me know.
