I'm looking to get a CCW, and I've been doing A LOT of research and the two guns that I'm debating is the Sig P220 carry equinox and the Para Carry 12. Anyone have any thoughts about these two or how they pair up?

People love Para's, I however have had some kind of issue or another with most of the ones I have handled.

SIGs, however have been the most reliable, accurate firearms I have ever used bar none.

I personally would go SIG.

while i have never owned a sig, my Para has been nothing short of flawless since i got it ( only about a month ago) but its well made, handles great and eats up everything. im only a few hundred rounds in. (about 200) but not a single failure of any kind

I've owned both SIG & Para products and for one reason or another, no longer do. If I were to recommend one over the other, it would probably be the SIG, specifically the P220 SAO carry pistol ;)
Good luck in your search!

sig. no question. i bought one, then i bought another. both are 220's. one is stainless full size and the other is an elite carry (the beavertail on this gun is sweet). swiss/german vs. canadian made...i like the sig.

seriously consider the 220 Elite carry over P220 carry equinox for a CCW. The front sight on the equinox is somewhat fragile. the metal on the slide shows off finger prints. the beavertail on the Elite should be an option on all sig models.

I started with a Para P13...was never reliable due to very steep feed ramp and weak hi cap mag springs (they were new origionals..double column of .45 is a lot of weight). Should have got the P220, it was my second choice...should have been my 1st choice. I got caught up with the high capacity of the para.

I realize mine was probably just a lemon, but a small, high cap .45 with a steep barrel ramp is kinda a stretch from John Browning's origional 1911 specifications. YMMV, shoot them both and get the one that feels and shoots best for you. That was my mistake, the Sig felt and shot a little better...then I made my decision based on specifications.

Now my primary carry is a KAhr K9, and I have a P226. My next auto purchase will be the P220 I should have gotten 12 years ago!
