Hi,

Can someone tell me if the Sig P220 always has the heavy trigger pull for the first shot? After you insert the magazine and rack the slide (hammer cocked) is the first trigger pull heavy in this situation also? Thanks.

Greeting's!

I have been shooting the SIG-SAUER P220A in .45ACP for a very long
time; while I won't say that the SIG's DA pull is the finest available,
I've been pleasantly surprised with my West German version P220.
While certainly not "slick as a babys butt", it does not have any
creep in its rearward travel.

And in the single-action mode, it breaks very cleanly, for positive
control of the weapon.

ColtBRH,

When you first rack the slide the P220 is in single-action mode until you use the decocker to drop the hammer, setting it to DA for the first shot followed by SA for followups.

When the hammer is down, double action, the trigger pull is heavy. When the hammer is cocked, single action, the trigger pull is lighter. Physics.
