Do the SAO Sig P220 models have the same trigger reach found on a DA/SA P220 when the hammer is cocked?

Roughly the same, but there is no long takeup in the SAO trigger.

Neat. Can you replace the trigger with the "short" one? If so, can you do it yourself (assuming you can, say, detail strip a 1911)?

I don't know if there is any interchangeability between DA/SA and SAO triggers. My guess would be no.
