Hey guys i bought a Sig p-225(well P-6 actually) not to long ago and fell in love with it. Im a big guy so carrying it unnoticed is easy for me. I carry it most of the time that i am awake save for at work :( company policy.... Anyway, the bluing on the slide is worn pretty bad and id like to have it redone in a satin nickel alla http://lundestudio.com/photos/p225tt-left-full.jpg. i want to find some wood stocks similar to the ones in the photo and also a threaded barrel for a future install of a can:D Would it be easier to find parts in a satin nickel or to have the ones on it refinished? If i can find one i will replace the hammer b/c i don't really like the hook on the end if it, also tritium or at least white dotted sights would be nice to have on it aswell. Any suggestions guys? Thanks.

There were some very beautiful but VERY pricey wood grips available for the SIGs. I don't remember the name...began with an N, IIRC.

There isn't much you can do to pimp a SIG...

They should be able to refinish any of the parts along with the slide if thats what you want. You can also get them from places like Top Gun Supply (www.topgunsupply.com) if you want to go that route. They have the hammer your looking for there too.

Night sights are easy too, especially if you have the tool, which is well worth the $80-100 they get for them if you have more than one SIG. I bought mine for $80 a few years back and between selling off the old night sights on EBay and not having to go to a gunsmith to get the sights put on, its paid for itself. It also allows you to easily zero the gun.

The grips that begin with the "N" are Nills. Nice grips, but pricey. Be aware the wood grips also usually add bulk to the grip. If your happy with the stock grips, the wood may not suit you, other than looks.

For what your going to put into that P6, you may want to look around for a nice P225. Unless this is just a do it for fun exercise, by the time your done getting where you want, you could have a nice P225.

I have two P6's. One looks brand new, the other has a well worn finish. I basically left them alone and only added night sights and replaced the springs (which together added about $100 to each gun). If you do nothing else to yours, swap out the mainspring for a P225 mainspring. Its a $4 part that will give you a DA trigger very close to the commercial guns.

cool thanks for the helpful responses guy, im going to order a set of grip panels from marshals in the next week or 2 ill take pictures and let yall know how the fit and finish is on them. The hammer i just ordered from topgun. I really don't want this thing to be "pimped out" but i would like it to look nice and not rust when i dont oil it for 4 days... Thats is the biggest reason i am doing this, the other is i was up in Macon Ga last weekend and stopped in at the Eagle Gun Range to kill some time. The sights on my Sig are not very visible in dim to moderate light. So that needs to be changed aswell. Other than that i love it.

Thanks again for the links guys
