I just picked up this gun on gunbroker after reading some reviews on it. The slide was refinished in brushed satin nickel and it has new tritium sights. Can y'all tell me a little about this gun? The good the bad and the ugly. This will be my first sig. Did I pay to much for it? Here is the link. Thanks in advance for any comments.

It's a P6, not a P226. The 226 is a double stack, the P6 is a single.

$650.00 is a bit much. These were going for like $350/$400 not too long ago, but you did get tritiums, a Pachmyar grip, and has been refinished, but I don't think it was a good deal. The SIG P6 is a really, really good gun. It will last you a long time and you'll enjoy it quite a bit.

Yeah I changed the title to 225, I made a typo. I didn't think I got a blazing deal on it, but I talked to the guy before I bought it and he said besides a bit of holster wear it looked unfired when he got it. He has put 100 rounds through it himself. Im just making sure this gun is going to last me awhile. Thanks for your input

Hell yes, you paid too much for that. They're great little guns, I picked up a couple that were damn near new from Dan's Ammo a year or two back for less than what you paid for that, even including shipping and FFL fees. The night sights add some to the value, but the nickel plating wouldn't have been my choice. If you like it for what you paid for it that's what counts. Luckily it will last you the rest of your life.

You didn't get a good deal.

Here's why.

the slide doesn't look like it was refinished..only polished to remove the bluing. not 100% positive, but if it was truly refinished in nickel, that's a terrible job. Also, the trigger and hammer look polished, not refinished.

the trigger work is a spring. $5.00
the night sights are good. $75
the grips are okay...$30

You spent $650 on a gun that probably cost him $299, plus the sights and the "refinish" job and he's probably into it for $450.

I don't mean to be rude, but if I asked the question, I'd want an honest answer.

If it's a good shooter and your happy with the deal, then it was a good deal!

I agree with the others. That is a little much. With that being said, if the gun is what you wanted , and it preforms to or above your standard, then you got your money's worth.

I paid $400 for my P6, and I found out later that I could have gotten it for $300 somewhere else. It didn't bother me, the gun was in good condition and shoots great.

Used euro police trade in's are selling in the $350 range with lots of holster wear.
I am thinking of buying one and sending it off for a clean up.
Yes, it might be a little high, but a new one is way more so if you like it, it's a good deal.

it has a refinish on the slide (look at the rear of the ejection port...it's silver and that part wouldn't be)...also...folded steel would be all rust colored since it is carbon steel if it was just polished...just enjoy the pistol as they have a long history or reliability and concealability that surpasses the products of today (reportedly ;) )...

...plus the sights appear to be Trijicon (my favorite and the original SiG Lights) as well as the cool Punisher skull logo on the top of the slide...enjoy!
