I must confess that I'm not up-to-date on Sig prices. My local newspaper has an ad in the CLASSIFIEDS section for a Sig P229 in .40 S&W, NEVER FIRED, for $550, firm.

What do y'all think?

I don't know; I am presuming that it is NOT. The ad didn't say and I haven't called the owner yet. I was waiting to get some "price check" feedback first.

All SIG P229's have a stainless slide; and $550
is a great price! Have cash in hand? :uhoh: Jump on
it. :D

Heck FWIW, I paid $760 for mine in December of 1995; but
I just had too have one, and they were SCARCE at that
time. Long since gone, as I figuered out the .45 ACP SIG
P220 can/will do anything that a .40 caliber P229 will
do! :uhoh:  :D

OOPS!

(eyes look down and face red with embarrassment)

I made a mistake...it's a P239...NOT a P229.

Do your comments still stand or is $550 too high?

My apologies for my error.

In my area you can get a new 239 for a bit less than $550.

Out here in Perkiness West, $550 would be just under regular retail price.

Not a screaming deal, but the pooch isn't getting screwed, either.
