sig p229r hammer?

haven't tried firing my sig p229r only dry fire and was wondering if the hammer does not really fully depress itself all the way to the firing pin because when dry firing it the hammer still strikes on a decocked level

If you pulled the trigger it had better hit the firing pin. Perhaps the hammer is rebounding slightly after the impact.

Yep, the hammer rebounds after hitting the pin. It's designed that way.
