I picked one of these up today for 379.00. Sadly I don't know much about them. I have owned a few Sigs and stupidly sold my 220 a while back. Is this just a 220 with a short grip?

I noticed they have been discontinued and replaced by some 220 variants. What is the reason for this?

The P245 is a great gun, and you got yours at a steal. I paid $600 for a nice used one about 5 years ago, and had to replace the dimming night sights to boot..

Its sort of a P220 with a short grip and a shorter barrel. The P220 Carry has basically a P220 frame with a P245 length slide.

They basically reintroduced the P245 as the P220 Compact. If it werent for the silly beavertail, I'd probably get on board with one of the new ones too.

Good to hear. this one came with night sights. It also didn't have a mag but they gave me a good deal on one. I don't think it was ever cleaned after it was fired, but a good hosing with Gun scuber cleaned out the internals very nicely.

If you still have any of your P220 mags, you can use them in the P245 too. They do stick out a little, but work fine. I use my P220 mags as a reload for my P245.

Top Gun Supply has mags at a good price if you need more. Great people to do business with too.

The P245 will also fit the P220/P226 holsters. They will just be a tad long.

You got a great deal.
You can get the 220 Compact mags, or get 220 Compact baseplates, for your 245 mags, and have a little more for your pinky to hang on to.
The 245 is a great carry gun, and a very easy shooting gun. I am just as accurate with it as I am with my 220.
