Hello all,
Recently purchased a P6 and cleaned it upon purchase. Took to range and fired 50 rounds. 2 of those rounds fired but did not Extract. The ammo was new winchester white box. What could be the problem and what is a remedy?

The first things I'd check would be that the chamber is clean and doesn't have any corrosion. Then I'd check that the extractor is clean, i.e., nothing under the hook and no gunk in the slot where it rests.

If these don't fix the problem then call SIG about getting it serviced.

SIG will not service German surplus P6 pistols, so don't waste your or their time calling them.

"Failed to extract" can mean several things. Weak ammo my partially extract, and then put the empty back in the chamber.

The first thing to do is clean & lube the gun, and then try different ammo.

Wally-World WWB is noted for not being the most powerful 9mm ammo out there, and the P6's are set up & sprung for hot European ammo.

That surprises me, is this first hand knowledge.

Is this a recent change? They did the Sig Service Plan and a trigger job on my P6 when I sent it to SIG last year.

Maybe so, but that is about all I shoot, and my P6 never had any issues with it (or any other pistol, for that matter). Having said that, I would also suggest that you try a different brand of ammo.

All I know is, SIG/SAUER USA has dropped the P225 and no longer imports the guns or parts for them.
They have never imported or sold the P6.

I attempted to get a spare P6 firing pin & some magazines from them three months ago, and was not able too.

Your milage may vary!

They might not sell parts for them but they will still work on them. A friend of mine bought a P6 and had FTE from it. Sent it back to Sig they fixed it and installed night sights.

1) AFAIK they still service them just fine. Parts are no longer produced however.

2) Out of 10+ boxes of WWB, I have had trouble with one box. 5 failures out of 70. The next 130 rounds I shot went through like nothing happened. It was just that first box of 100, so keep shooting.

3) Check your extractor for scarring. Local RO noticed mine had some scarring from not being properly lubricated. I let him know I'd only had the pistol for 4 months and that it was 27 years old!
