Has anyone installed a short trigger for their Sig P226.

Did it make that much of a difference, and was it easy to install?

(remove slide stop, locking bar and slide pin that holds trigger. Trigger drops, install new one and reverse order is how I invision this installation)

Your comments would be very appreciated. I am thinking about picking up one this Friday.

Thanks

I've been wondering about this myself (for a 220). Specifically, how much shorter is it--does it make a 220 viable for small hands?

I have one on my 228, and it's the bees knees. :) I can't recall exactly how much shorter it is, but it's about half the thickness of the standard trigger. It feels like more than it looks.

Installation is more difficult than you describe. The pin on the trigger bar that the trigger slips onto is fixed to the trigger bar, so you'll have to remove the trigger bar/trigger from the frame in order to get the old trigger off and the new one on. To do that, you'll have to remove the right grip panel and unhook the trigger return spring from the trigger bar.

Getting the trigger bar assembly out of the gun is kind of tricky, too. It doesn't really want to come out. There may be a trick to this that I don't know of, but I just kinda jiggled it until it came free, and jiggled it back in afterwards. I hope that isn't too technical. :)

My only complaint is that the pad of my finger tends to get pinched between the trigger and the frame when the trigger breaks, but I may just have fat fingers.
