I have a hankering for a Sig X5 Competition pistol, the only problem being they are EXPENSIVE! I handled an X5 tactical at a LGS about a year ago and really, really liked it. They wanted $1100 for it, lightly used, I walked away then changed my mind and called the store: it was already sold.
I don't shoot competitively but when I do shoot pistols I sure enjoy a good one. Right now in 9mm I've got a sweet CZ 75B-SA only, an H&K VP9 and a just completed, bobtailed, trigger-jobbed SA 1911.
The German-made X5 would be the most expensive if I added it to the fleet, around $1700 plus tax.
I've heard that Germany has blocked Sig from exporting fully made guns for whatever reason and that the possibility of finding a new X5 is close to zero.
So, any thoughts on the X5?
Would 4 handguns all in the same caliber be excessive?
