I have a friend selling a S&W sigma .40 to me for 75 dollars. The only thing is the recoil spring rod broke, and he doesn't have a spare. So I have to buy the assembly. Do they make steel rods for this gun? Where would I buy one for it? Thanks guys.

Don't know, but at that price, I'd get some spare plastic ones and be very, very happy. Nothing wrong with a Sigma. I put 2,000 rds. of 9MM through one without any type of failure, all my reloads. I like friends like that!

Thanks for the links guys. Thats what I figured...for the price I would get it and get a couple of spares!

I bought one for a house gun. There are some sites that will also walk you thru a lighter trigger pull to. I have about 450 rounds fired and have no complants. solid pistol.

re: trigger

Call S&W customer service

tell them the trigger is "rough and gritty"

DO NOT tell them it's "stiff".

They'll email postage

mail the frame

about two weeks later it will appear at your doorstep

MAJOR improvement in the trigger

They've done four or five of mine by now.

For a deal like that I would buy another sigma as a house gun

*swyped from the evo so excuse any typos*

That sounds like a great deal. I had one in .40 but sold it because the recoil was punishing. My Kahr PM40 is much more manageable.
