Yes, my 1989 P226 rattles worse than the 1944 Remington Rand :what: I'll start worrying when it stops working.

I just took it for granted that everybody knows a Ducati dry clutch plays jingle bells!

I was thinking you might just scratch this itch:

Better get one now before the new gun bans. I might just order one myself.

I have not yet handled the P220 Carry SAS, but I can say my P220 Carry Equinox is one fine pistol. It is every bit as accurate as any 1911 I've owned, and runs like a top. I really love the front sight, too, I wish more pistols had that sight. Very easy to acquire. I'm not totally sold on the looks (I'm a blue/black gun guy) but it was on sale for nearly the same price as a Nitron P220C, and I jumped. Boy am I glad I did. The trigger is somethin' else, too... Better than my P239.

Looks like we are jumping from club to club :neener:
I like the looks of the 556, but I have my sights set on a RRA CAR-15. I want one thats been around for longer then the Sig.

I'm putting down an order for a 556, myself. Why not? You only live once. Same philosophy goes for any of the other high-ticketed semi-autos that "budgeted" people here scorn.

I dig my SiG....

I bought my first gun in Sept 2006, a SiG P226R .40 with the factory logo crimson trace grips. I've got over 3000 rounds through it now and carry it regularly.

Then I picked up a P239 SAS lightly used, for summertime carry duty. Still need to pick up an IWB holster for it. From the question above, the slide is no thinner, but the edges are rounded off. The 9mm P239s have slightly different dimensions, though, compared to the .40 and .357 models.

Latest acquisition is a P226R Stainless .40. It quickly became my favorite range gun.

Called to verify it's new, left Sig in January of this year! Local shop I picked it up from was going on and on about how great a gun it is, then he started making fun of me cause of my ear to ear grin! Unfortunately I'm slammed this weekend so it'll have to wait until next week to start the break in process. Best damn present I ever got! :D

Motorhead - Welcome to the club! Nice family pics :D

Chem - Congrats on the new addition - Good luck and good shootin with it
I like the anchor tatoo

Add me to this club

I own several Sigs. My favorite is my Bruce Gray tuned P226R that I use for competition.

Boy the 239 SAS is gorgeous! Any Trailside fans in this bunch? I've been contemplating finding one for the cheapness that is shooting 22LR. :)

Chem Geek, congrats!! I may have to grab one of those.

Re: 556. Why not? The way I see it, we probably don't have much time. After the new "assault weapon ban" passes, and I don't see why it won't, there will be no more Sig 556. So there aren't many months to buy them, there won't be many imported, and I'm sure you could dump it later for the same you paid for it new. I could, of course, be wrong... and then you'd only be left with what should be a Really Good Rifle. ;)

Emil: looks nice. The front sight looks like an orange version of the one in the Equinox. I *love* that sight.

Motorhead: thanks, I appreciate the thoughts on the SAS. Is the stainless version of the P226 a lot nicer to shoot than the alloy?

New addition to the family

Just got back from the Valley Forge (PA) gun show and scratch my Sig itch with a new P226R 9MM. :D

The only thing I'm not sure about is which exact model I have :uhoh:
The slide has the same two tone finish as the equinox. The right side of the slide has the Sig Custom Shop logo on it. The sights are the regular nite sites - not the Truglos like the equinox. The grips are the stock plastic Sig P226 grips. The bar code label on the box says : SIG P226 9MM 2T 4.4" 2-15RD PME, SG26R9PME. The serial # is U738***.
It was the only one like this that I saw today (looked at about 8 or 9 P226 9mms) Thanks in advance for any help!

I saw those for sale on Gunbroker awhile back. It's like a regular P226 with an Equinox slide (and the sight difference, as you noticed!). Some folks like the plastic grips better than the wood, anyway, the wood grips are a tad wider than the plastic. Did you get a good price on it??

I went looking for a P226 Elite 9mm today, but alas none are to be had. I did find a P228 that was a recent LE trade at a large shop. It was in very good shape, some scratches on the slide and one nick in the frame, but it doesn't look like it's been shot much at all, the barrel is in great shape. I have been looking for the "right" P228 for awhile now, and although this one wasn't a CPO (which I wanted for the refinished slide), this one was nice and tight and since I shoot/carry all my guns anyway a little wear is not a biggie to me. Price was right ($449) so I decided to grab it and see how she shoots :D

Not as pretty as yours, 1BLINDREF, but she feels nice in my hand and I'm happy to add my 3rd SIG!

Speaking of adding SIGs... They also had a very nice condition used P232SL (no Hogues on this one, though) which as mentioned above is just TOO sexy. I really detested the red dotted sights, though, I had a very hard time acquiring them. Mag release is funny, too, and the lack of slide release felt odd. Nothing you couldn't get used to... And it felt unfamiliar (unlike any other new SIG)... And I just can't put my finger on it, but I wanted it anyway. I decided to skip it, though, for now.

I also grabbed one of these today:

I ride my bicycle alot, often through less than desireable areas, at odd hours. This will come in handy; I wear a Camelbak anyway. This one has a holster in it! I couldn't find a great image to link to show operation, but essentially you grab the gray handle and yank and there's your weapon. It's pretty neat, I'll report on how it works out as I function test it in the finally warming weather.

I'm in as well. I currently own a P226 NSW Navy edition in 9mm and a P239 DAK in 9mm, too. I've owned a couple more in the past (I'm actually in the process of selling my P229R DAK), but I'm sure more will be coming down the line when I can afford to shoot more than just 9mm.
