I carry my P239 SAS in an Alessi OWB leather holster. I'm not a fan of IWB holsters (I bulked up a bit for winter  ) I carry my P229 and P226 in a Galco Concealable OWB leather holster.
I guess I'm kinda old school, I prefer leather for my guns :D

Holster

I ended up ordering the comp-tac MTAC. I have heard a lot of good things about their holsters so I am anxious to get it. I will let yall know how I like it after I carry it for a few days.

Will do...unfortunately I am out of town on business this week and I am supposed to have 2 holsters a belt and stuff for the truck all delivered while I am gone. All I can hope is that it is all still sitting on the porch when I get home. I did not even think about being out of town this week when I ordered it all.....oh well, it will give me something to day dream about while I am stuck in meetings.
Will report back next week,

My 239 gets carried in leather, when it gets carried at all.

Oh, and I'm going to have a chance to deal with Sig's customer service soon. The tab on my top handguard for my 556 broke off today while field stripping it. I emailed them tonight and I'll give them a call tomorrow. I'll let you know how they treat their customers.

^^^ cool picture

I just put a new firing pin and spring in my P226 last night.
I can't say enough how great the Sig Armorers DVD by Chri Orndorff is.
IMHO, it's well worth the $22.00

If anyone is looking for some good range mags or even carry mags for your P226 9mm, check these out from Top Gun Supply
http://www.topgunsupply.com/SIG-P226-9mm-15RD-German-magazine-RECONDITIONED-pr-1250.html

I bought two of them to use for IDPA matches and they are really nice. You can't beat the price of $22.00
New mag springs, followers, and base plates are worth $20.00 alone.

Tom and Michelle are great people and will take care of you. They charge a flat rate of $7.95 for USPS Priority Mail no matter how much you buy - so stock up.

Loose slide/frame fit

Greetings everyone,

I'm not new to the Sig as it was the first pistol I ever bought (a West German P220 back in 1992) and have had others since then that I've sold and regretted. Of those, a P226 I had since the mid 90's was the one I really regret selling since I learned to shoot on a Sig and well, let's admit it - they're darn accurate.

I bought a West German P226 yesterday and took it out to the range and I'm fairly happy with it. Not in perfect shape, but some TLC and a hardchrome job will take care of that. Anyway, after field stripping and cleaning the snot out of it, I realized that the slide to frame fit isn't very tight. In fact, it's somewhat sloppy and it rattles when I shake the empty pistol. I remember our old duty weapons (P226) being fairly loose and having a 'rattle' to them. I figured it was from years of shooting hundreds and hundreds of +P+ rounds during qualifications, but ultimately figured the gun was still a workhorse and held it's accuracy.

My question to the Sig pros is this: Is Sig rattle or a loose slide to frame normal, especially in the older guns? How much is too much, and can it be tightened up at all? My P220 doesn't rattle or slop around, but then again, I don't shoot it anymore and it didn't take the punishment that my old duty pistol did.

Any help would be appreciated. I am extremely happy I found this pistol; now I just want to get it conditioned to my liking.

there is a certain "rattle" that developes after alot of rounds through a gun. as long as the finish is still on the frame rails you should be OK...otherwise you're into the bare Al.

Grayguns Inc. is developing a way of saving the "workhorses" that have worn out the rails...standby for further developements

MTAC holster, safepacker, wilderness tactical belt

Finally got back in town after been gone all week and business and all of my new orders were sitting on the porch. The safepacker is nice but will take some time getting used to. I was a little uncomfortable carrying it in public for the first time as it seemed so large and strange hanging off my hip but honestly no one batted an eye at it. The best purchases that I received were by far the Wilderness Tactical Instructors belt and the Comp-tac MTAC for my Sig P239. I am absolutely amazed at how comfortable the MTAC is both standing and sitting. I have owned many holsters by many different makers over the years and I would have to say that this is the first one that I can see myself carrying on a daily basis. I would highly recommend this holster to others. Another plus to the holster is that additional kydex attachments can be purchased at $35 to change the holster to a variety of different guns. The customer service with Comp-tac is top notch and I will definitely be ordering from them again.

Well, I thought I was over it. I have been taking my medication, and things seemed better. But the voices started agin last week.
CDNN had excellent condition P245's for $500.00, and I just couldn't resist.
I was a little concerned about the grip size. It's a shorter than my 239, but about the same width. The middle of my pinky ends up on the end of the curved baseplate, so I have the longer ones on order from Top Gun.
Got to take it to the range today, and I might have a new carry gun. It was very accurate, and easy to shoot. I seem to be as good with it as I am my 220, at 7 yards. Went through 100 rounds of WWB, 50 rounds of Blazer Brass, and 50 rounds of Remington hollow points. Not one problem.
I don't care if the voices stop or not.

Riceboy call Sig Sauer at your conveinience

603-772-2302 ex. 3111 and they can help you I guarentee it. I hear the guys that work in the custom shop and used guys are fantastic. So give it a shot what's the worst that could happen... "Sorry there's not much we can do for that problem sir, but if you send it in we will see what we can do if not replace it!"??? Hypathetically speaking. I am NOT speaking for SIG. that could get me fired!!!

Thanks for the tip, USMCDK. I appreciate it. Will do come Monday morning. I don't think it's a big deal, but I wanna make sure this thing is gonna last (and I know it will; just annoying is all).

Also, I know that Mec-Gar is now the OEM manufacturer of Sig mags. I wish they were still made in Germany with the zipperback construction, but alas, I have to settle for what's available.

Anyone have ANY problems with the Italian made ones whatsoever? I wanna hear it all - the good, the bad, and the ugly. I want to know if anyone has had any issues with reliability, fuction, finish durability, or spring issues when it's left loaded for a long time.

I bought three mags the other day for my P229 and they're the ones made by Mec-Gar. Hope they turn out to be as good as the old factory feeders.

Thanks for all the help, everyone. Greatly appreciated!

Hey, this is my second club this week. First the 336 club now the Sig club.
As a member of the 642 Club and founder of the 336 Club, I'm happy to learn of the Sig Club.

It's interesting that this club has been around for over a year, yet I just stumbled on it.

I don't own a Sig, and probably won't.
(See sig line - wow, there's irony.)

I probably won't even hang out here long.

But it's great to see the club idea spreading.
Such a wealth of information to be had; 53 pages already!

Keep on keepin' on.

Welcome Nem- Glad you found us!

I started this thread/club after buying a and joining the 642 Club.
As you can see our Sig thread hasn't grown nearly as fast as the 642 Club, but I think we are doing OK! :)

BTW - I have a picture to post in the 642 Club that you might find interesting.
Thanks for stopping by!

B'ref, my pleasure.

You've got a great club going here.
Very warm feeling and informative.

I look forward to seeing your image.

Shoot long and prosper.

I've been running a Mec-Gar in my 229 and that's what comes with a Kel Tec P32. They have been flawless in both of my pistols. Fit and finish is top notch.

Greg,

Thank you x 10! I appreciate the pics, especially the one of the mags side by side. It's not that I don't trust the Mec-Gars that are now OEM from Sig; I just wish they were still German made by Sig. I'm very sure I will hear more success stories over complaints, but I figured I'd ask.

Last week, I bought three factory mags made by Mec-Gar as my pistol came with the 10 round feeders, and found two German Sig mags yesterday at a gun show. One is new in bag; the other is very gently used with slight wear on the tube itself. Range time later today will tell me more.

I didn't know whether to post this under "What's The Last Gun You Bought" or here at the Sig Club. I figured it would be more appreciated here. :) My new P220 Match. I have only had a chance to put 150 rounds through it but is a sweet shooter. When you pick it up the extra 1/2" on the barrel is a lot more noticeable than I thought it would be.

riceboy72-
I have a bunch aof Mec-Gars for various Sigs and I can tell you that they been 100% flawless. You can use them with confidence!

highrider-
You made a great decision both with buying that "long slide" P220 and posting the picture here. Very nice gun :D
That extra 1/2" does make a difference.
