I'll add a crappy photo of my new P220 Combat TB to the club:
This is on my desk (which looks a heck of a lot dustier than I thought it was) after my first outing at the range, right before cleaning. Went through 450 rounds, not a single misfire, FTE, whatnot. My best group was perhaps an inch and a half at 30 feet. The group from my first mag was, ah, "a little larger than that".
I really started liking that extra bit of mag hanging down there after a while, and in general I really like the pistol quite a lot. Feels good in my hand, and all the bits are intuitively easy to get at and such. I may pick up a set of Hogues for it, as I'm seemingly addicted to them (I have large hands, so maybe they help fill out a smaller grip like the 220). They'll spoil the FDE look to the thing, though, so I'm not sure.
I bought all the spare mags they had, including a spare 8 rounder. The thread protector I got from TGS. Didn't notice much difference with it on or off. A laser/light combo is on order and in the mail somewhere. (Hasn't even arrived yet and my brother is giving me grief that the green lasers are "cooler".) I got some good holster advice from the folks here, and will pick up a holster once the light arrives. I also bought a Gemtech Blackside suppressor along with it.
I've read conflicting reports about the Blackside's lack of a booster and how it affects the cycling and ejecting and so forth. Near as I can figure the "Blacksides suck" vs. the "Blackside worked fine on my gun" tally is running about even, with the P220s seeming to get along fairly well with that suppressor. Which gives me a little hope it'll work out well on my gun. I didn't want to have a huge, heavy can sticking off the end, and the Blackside seemed like just the thing according to my research -- it really is pretty light. Not the quietest from what I understand, but if it just dials it down a notch or three I'll be fine. I reckon I'll use hotter loads and a strong grip and hope it wasn't a bad purchase. I'll post here again in a few months when it arrives if anyone is interested.
Anyway, glad to see there are a lot of Sig owners here on THR!
