I had some guy in a gun shop today tell me that silencers were no longer legal for transfer in the the state of florida,he said they state of FL no longer allows private citizens to pocess these items is this true? I hope not cause I was going to but a walther p22/silencer package from class 3 dealer here when I get the money. Can anyone here confirm of deny this? I've never been one to believe what I hear but just want to know if this is true or not? Thanks

Seems there's an excess of gunshop morons in Florida. Btw Hkmp5sd, I'm emailing those links you posted in my thread to the buyer in Florida. I haven't heard from him yet. I'll bet that gunshop still hasn't even let him look at his gun. :fire: :fire: :fire:

I'm also tempted to ask him how much he paid for the transfer and if they gave him a hassle about it when he first asked. He's in north central Florida. Got any recommendations for good gunshops in that area? I pay $15 for transfers and it's 10 minutes in and out tops....

One time two guns arrived at my FFL on the same day and he still only charged me $15. "Same amount of paperwork." he said. :)

Some of these guys make up their own laws, and with the current political climate have no fear of it even when they do it to LEO's.

Was this in Lakeland by any chance?

Maybe it's the same guy that goes to different gun shows and says Kevlar vests are illegal to own now. :neener:

It happens. Idiots talk about stuff they don't know what the hell they're talking about.

When I got my unarmed security training yesterday, the topic of guns did come up, since the instructor was a firearms instructor too. He believed that guns are illegal to carry in schools due to Oregon state law. I pointed out that it wasn't. He didn't believe me. So I actually went on his computer (with his permission of course), and showed him the actual Oregon revised statute. It is in fact illegal to carry a hangun in a school...if you DON'T have a CHL.

Needless to say, he was presently suprised. I basically helped him with his new CHL course. Lots of CHL holders would have thought that schools were illegal to carry in if it wasn't for my efforts.
