SIMULTANEOUS "open" and "concealed" carry?

....after reading Shawnee's thread of opinions, I'm wondering if anyone occasionally or regularly SIMULTANEOUSLY carries both "open" and "concealed".
Some states require listed pistols to be "concealed" when carried, preventing their "open" carry. Unlisted pistols may be carried "open" in those States; anyone's experience practising both together????

In my neck of the woods that is known as hunting over bait. I have talked to several peace officers who when in large crowds would not consider their duty weapon on safe in the retention holster their primary gun if it was grabbed, but rather obtain their concealed BUG to address the threat. If as a private citizen I was that worried about a gun grab I would try not to go wherever worried me so.
