As I age, I find myself excited about single shot rifles. I have decided to build one simply for the satisfaction.
I have purchased a 20" barrel from a Remington 700 . It is brand spankin' new, and for 55 bucks I could not say no.
I have been looking at a few different ideas for an action. Bolt is always my first choice. I just like it. I have also entertained break open like the 30 30 I had when I was a kid. Recently, I was admiring the RN-50, which is a .50 BMG single shot that uses a break open design, but the breech plug unscrews to reveal the chamber. I have been told that it is very accurate. It is made by Serbu Firearms.
Any thoughts?
