Well to make a long story short I loaned my Single Six out to someone and forgot to change the cylinder to .22lr. He consequently put 300 rounds of .22lr through my .22wmr cylinder.:cuss:

1st question under the loading gate there is a small hole is this something that has always been there or is that a gas relief that blew.:what:

second in the frame where the cylinder resides is this supposed to be a polished finish or has it been damaged in some way?

It's the pin that holds the firing pin assembly in...

after some cleaning it looks to be some sort of film... almost sticky very stubborn..

sweet glad to know about the hole... you cannot find a picture of a single six with the gate open lol...

Hmmmm....

Shooter didn't notice those .22LR cases were bulged & split?

Oh, well...just clean it up thoroughly, and make sure you have the right ammo for the installed cylinder.

Recently did that myself...had the .22Mag cylider installed, but loaded up .22LR ammo...After a cylinder full of rounds, the pilot light slowly got brighter...got real bright after I looked at those split cases..
