Looks like only a little has changed since, but clearly the front sight and bayonut lug have been cut.

I have a friend who loves the M1 and it's sight setup but is on a limited budget.. now I have something to suggest. Heck, I want one for me too.

A friend of mine and I threw around the idea of making a few (like...5) of these to sell at a gunshow. However, I figured that I don't have an FFL, and it would look pretty suspicious if one guy had 5 of the same kind of custom gun in his "personal collection."

That and I'd need to sell it for something like $400-$450 dollars to turn a decent profit. I don't know, maybe people would be willing to pay it.

Oh, and it shoots about like an SKS shoots. I don't think any of my modifications affected accuraccy, but they definitely enhanced shootability.

I'll do a conclusive range report next weekend.

Nice set up, though Id say it resembles an SVT 40 more than an M1A. To bad it still shoots like an SKS and not an M1A.

That's why I made the statement about shootability. The tech sights didn't make the gun more accurate, they allowed me to be more accurate with the gun.

What would help is a good bedding and sorting out the trigger group. Both of those will help no end on the SKS.

I'd hate to sound shallow....but I'm only with it for its looks.

Ah, it shoots well enough for me. I know it will never be an MOA gun, and even if it was, the effective range isn't that great. It will easily hit a man-sized target at 300 yards. That's good enough for me, as long as I look badass doin' it!

I've been thinking about basically doing the same thing but with the Camo stock.

Question on the magazine, I see from a previous reply that it's removable but can you feed it with strip clips while it's in place??
