Looking for holster suggestion for G26. IWB, comfortable, slim, with an easy to use clip (so that it could be put on and taken off without having to struggle with your belt for five minutes), preferably covering the barrel, not very pricey.

Suggestions ?

Purpose? Body type? Do you do a lot of sitting during the day, or more activity?

I'd have a different answer for a guy with an athletic build looking to CC than I would a man with some "vestments" who wanted something for woods walking.

Garrett makes an excellent holster, but for what the OP wants, I'd not pick the Fusion. Either the Silent Thunder or the Silent Thunder GT would be better options.

I forgot they have the new G6 http://www.giholsters.com/g6/

I spend much time in the car. 3 hours a day minimum. Getting in and out. Work, kids' activities, errands, home.

5'10 and 210 lbs. Used to be 147 lbs :( My wife is a great cook, at least that's a consolation.
Some love handles. Size 36 is a bit loose without a belt, size 34 is a fond but fading memory.

Guns are a no-no at work. Also probably kids' afternoon activities not the best idea - not even sure if they are considered "childcare facilities", at least some of them. So getting the gun out & back in frequently. I would much prefer a holster that I can just get in & out without having to take the loaded gun out.

Looking for (1) best concealability (2) comfort. Also, as I said, as thin as possible. Some of the holsters I saw look way too thick. Glock Sports holster is very thin, btw. But it's for outside wear. Although I know it can be modded for IWB.

Is anyone familiar with the Foxx Trapp holsters ? Someone suggested one for me.

Alien Gear Cloak Tuck IWB with standard Nylon Clips meets all of your criteria. I would recommend the leather over the Cloak Tuck 2.0, but that is personal preference. I found the Nylon clips to be surprisingly comfortable and easy to use, and conceal better than the traditional spring steel clips found on most hybrid holsters.

I've used a dual clip holster and found it awkward to put on and take off compared to single clip holsters that are very easy to slip on and off. In addition the advantage to the wide spaced loops is they distribute the weight of the gun better, a handy thing for your 5" all steel 1911, but not much of an advantage with the little G26.

Well, I looked hard at Foxx again... seems like a very nice holster but I don't like the idea of slide riding up against my body in summer, and their slide guard looks like a torture device... any other similar holsters ? Or am I making a problem where none exists ?

And yes, I agree, the 2-clip seems like an overkill for G26, and hard to get off in a hurry.

I am basically looking for something along the lines of this

This is a PJ holster that seems to be getting good reviews, however from the photo it appears the trigger guard is not very well protected. Also am concerned with slide guard poking me in the sides.

This is the Foxx Trapp without slide guard. This gets rave reviews & if going without the slide guard is OK I may just end up getting it.

I find that my hybrid IWB for my Glock 26 is a pain to put on, but comes off very easily. I have to put the holster on my pants without the gun in place , then holster the gun. I have to have my belt undone and my pants unbuttoned to get the holster on.

Coming off, on the other hand, the whole holster and pistol slide right out of my waistband with no fuss at all.

And I wouldn't discount the all day comfort of two clips spread out on your belt, even with a G26.

But maybe you're the type that needs to take your holstered pistol on and off several times a day. If so then no, an IWB Hybrid is not for you.

Glock's have no sharp edges to poke you and they are one of the most rust resistant guns available, so I'd think if any gun would be fine without a sweat shield it would be a Glock.

...any other similar holsters...
I listed a handful above. PJ's have a very good reputation. Here is another.

I'm on a few forums and spend most of my time in the "holster" sections of those forums. In all my years on the various forums, the name Foxx holsters may have come up once prior to you mentioning them in this thread. They may be great, but they don't seem to be what the "folks" are going to when looking for a top holster.

So a comfortable, affordable, well-concealed holster for someone who does a lot of sitting. Not skinny, but not corpulent. Cool.

Crown Holsters would meet many of your criteria. Thin kydex, easy on-off, very comfortable, much more affordable than alternatives at $50. I bought one of their holsters to try Appendix IWB without the wait and expense of a G-Code, and I've been very happy with it. I Carry a Glock 26, but it ordered the holster fit for a Glock 19 since the extra length helps with stability and I can go to a 19 if I like. The sweat guard isn't full, which I'm fine with given the good Glock finish. http://crownholsters.com/crown-jewel-iwb-holster.html

5.11 sells an IWB/AIWB holster on amazon. I chose not to order it when I was in the market, since it did not look like it rode high enough to allow the shooter to get good purchase on the grip for the draw (went with the one above instead). However, if budget is really that tight it can be had for around $30 on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/5-11-Appendix...&keywords=holster+5.11+iwb&pebp=1416064994398

I own a Crossbreed Super Tuck and carried it for years, but haven't put it on since going to AIWB. Hybrid holsters are the pinnacle of comfort in my opinion, but sub-optimal for someone who spends a lot of time in the car. Not that they aren't comfortable, but the draw won't be the fastest. If that's negligible to you, Alien Gear offers a less expensive option with a great warranty. Their product, or any of the others, can be worn at 3 o'clock to help ameliorate access while seated. Alien Gear's IWB holsters can be had starting around $30. http://aliengearholsters.com

Good luck!

I find the 2 clip IWB holsters pretty easy to put on and off. Clip type will make more of a difference than 1 vs. 2 in my experience. It isn't about weight distribution so much as slimness and comfort that makes the 2 clip better IMO.

The Alien gear posted above (Cloak Tuck 2) for $36 looks like a great way to try this type of holster out for not a lot of coin.

I use a Remora or similar holster quite a bit when carrying IWB with an untucked shirt. Pretty comfortable and easy to use. It will move around a bit if you don't get the right tension from your belt.

I use a Remora for the reason that you listed (can't carry at work and want to move the gun without removing it from the holster). I carried a G27 (same size as G26) for over a year in one and now carry a G30S. I always remove the entire package (gun + holster) when I need to take my gun off. Essentially my gun never leaves the holster unless it's being fired at the range which greatly reduces the chances of an AD/ND.

I carry a G26 often, in a Crossbreed Supertuck. It's one of the more expensive hybrids, but the quality is worth it to me. Their proprietary hardware stays put, which makes a huge difference when you put it on. On in fifteen seconds, off in five. Very comfortable.

Well, I did get a Remora, and realized pretty quick that it can be _carried_ (I.e. Walked with) but no way can I _drive_ with it without completely screwing up my back. Does seem good for a quick grab&go, but too thick for long carry.

So, I finally decided to listen to all of those telling me that hybrids are the most comfortable type, and ordered Galko King Tuk (only picked it over a Supertuck because it was immediately available on Amazon Prime, and by all accounts not any worse).

I can now say that my quest is over, at least for a while, it's super comfortable, concealable, I can drive with it, sit with it, It works at 3:00, it works at 4:30 (where no other holster I tried would hold grip close enough to the body), it's not as easy to take off and put on without undoing my pants, but the comfort and conceal ability are unmatched by any other holster I tried.

As a bonus, it also works with G17.

I am sure that Crossbreed or Alien Gear would work just as well. I am now a firm believer in hybrid holsters.

Yeah...good perspective. I'm not a fan of the Crossbreed Super Tuck and it seems to upset people. The reason I don't like them is not because they are not great holsters...they are. I carry AIWB and I think a lot of folks miss the point that which IWB holster works best for you will depend largely on where you carry and what you carry there.

Some holsters are awesome but fall short on comfort and functionality when you move them to another location. All carry positions, especially IWB, make different demands to some degree.
