Hello everyone,

Now that I have my new rifle set up, I'm in the market for a sling to use with it. The rifle is a FN Police Special w/ a 24" bbl and a Leupold 4.5-14X40 AO w/ sun shade and Butler Creek flip ups. It currently does have a bipod on it, but would want a functional sling (not just to carry on shoulder) in case I wanted to shoot the rifle without it. (Shoot Highpower and am comfortable shooting using the sling. The AR has a nice Les Tam on it. Thanks Steve)

I'm looking for some suggestions on a sling to use with the swivel studs. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Troy

762x51, a Turner would be a downgrade from his current Les Tam! :D

RR1, I think another Tam sling is in order! He can do it in black if you want it all to match. Alternatively a Turner Biothane.

Kind sir, Leslie Tam is a custom one-man shop sling maker in Honolulu. HE makes the slings for competitors in his spare time, and they are absolutely the BEST leather service rifle sling that you can buy. The thickest and finest leather, the finest tanning, custom stamping, numbering, length based on your height and build, and the biggest d ring on earth. A REAL work of art. [email protected]

Ok, this question is definitely going to show my niativity in this, but my Les Tam fit through my already existing rings that were already installed on my AR-15. I'm assuming that I would need to get something like that to install on my swivel studs so I could install a new Les Tam. Some of the tactical slings I've seen has the swivel stud mount sewn into the sling itself.

What is the best / reliable way to mount / use a sling with these types of rifles?

Thanks

Thanks Steve, I'll check him out!

Get yourself a good set of Uncle Mikes swivels and you should be fine. If you want a real beefy set, Uncle Mikes makes a "Milspec" swivel set now allthough these are probably overkill.
