Took myself, gun and reloads out to the range yesterday, got some spotting help from the RO. He asked me if my gun, (TWS, 1 in 9", irons, red dot), was zero'd in, I told him I was pretty sure. We set some targets out at 50 yards, first 3 shots, "in the bulls-eye, in the bulls-eye, edge of bullseye, you don't need me", the bulls-eye is 2". This was using CFE223, 26gr, 55gr Hornady FMJ using the iron sights, took the dot off, one less variable. Took some more shots, (5 at a time), at the small corner 'dots', seemed about the same, ( 26.8gr and 27.2gr). Moved the target out to 100, pretty inconsistent with the iron sights, mainly 3-4" groups, some out at 5", ( I guess that makes 'em 5" groups). Put the red dot on, better, staying mainly 3" groups, a couple out at 4". Switched to my first H335 loads, wow, I'm putting the majority of 'em in the 2" bulls-eye, a couple at 3", I actually started to giggle! The first H335 load was 24.5gr, the second was 24.9gr, I'm not too sure about how that one went, I was running out of time and the target was 'filling up'. I've read that more than a few haven't gotten good grouping using the CFE223 until the load got up nearer to max, going to head in that direction. Next trip, more targets and some more loads for both powders. I need to 'structure' my range time better, I guess more time helps too, LOL BTW, for grins I shot some factory ammo, Privi Partizan, for comparison, mine are as good or better.
