Small 45acp Pistol Recommendations

I have an original XDs45. I keep thinking I should move it on, but end up keeping it. It's just a great little pocket cannon.

Snappy little bastard, but a good shooter.

My favorite is the Colt CCO, an Officer's model frame with a Commander slide. I think that there may have been another manufacturer or two that made similar guns, but good luck finding one. Mine is the only one I've ever seen for sale. I got very lucky browsing a pawn shop that day.

I was very interested in the Springfield XDS2 and the various Kahrs.

Then I unexpectedly won a GB auction for seized property from an Oklahoma PD.

Apparently for $201 plus shipping, tax, and FFL, I will soon be the owner of a Taurus PT145.

I know that the Millennial series fit my hands okay, and I'm pretty sure my G26 holsters fit them.

It will probably have a mushy gross trigger. :(

If it goes bang every time, it should be a less snappy option than the Kahr PM40.

If it doesn't go bang, I can send it back to Taurus or part it out.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. :)
The PT145 I owned was great pistol… I traded it off some reason or another… you know how it goes

My EDC is a Sig Sauer C3 1911.
Commander length slide with a Officer frame.
That's the smallest 45 I would carry.

I have a Kimber Custom Shop Ultra CDP II .... Someone is supposed to buy it, but I haven't seen any cash.

Lots of companies are copying the idea of Commander, and Officer style 1911 pistols. Try a few of those, or get lost in the online reviews for them.

I'm taking the PT145 to the range with me in a couple of hours.

I'm recovering from a broken finger on my dominant hand, but my shooting buddy is going to shoot it for sure, so I'll have a range report later today or tomorrow.

Someone managed to damage the finish in a way I've never personally seen before. No wonder no one else would bid on it. :)

Well…now you don’t have to worry about messing up the finish

I have an AMT Backup DAO 45ACP that I'm happy with. It's small enough that it fits in my jeans hip pocket without showing. I've tried it with 3 loads: 230 yr hardball, my 200 gr cast lead swc target load, and a Remington 185 yr subsonic hollow point. It feeds and extracts all three 100%.

You must have the finger strength of an ape! The ones I <tried> shooting were 38 Super and I literally had trouble pulling the trigger back for the 3rd shot...
