I didn't see a post here, but on facebook and another forum there is a post saying that Smith has introduced the 9 mm version of the EZ Shield. I will be very interested in the first reviews on this one because my MBH (much better half) has problems racking her Shield in 9 mm. I said I would get her an EZ if Smith came out with a 9 mm. So, there it is.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Interesting. I was wondering why a grip safety until I heard mention of the “one piece trigger”. I guess for some states they need the extra safety to sell the gun there.

I would like to shoot one just to see how it works.

If I'm not mistaken they had one at Larry's today. I didn't get close enough to see it (other than it looked like a .380 EZ). They were telling a customer they were not supposed to sell it for two more days.

Hmmm, neighbor lady has the 380 and loves it. I'd prefer a 9 personally. Now its here... :)

The wife bought the 380 EZ back in April 2018 and fell in love with it. Then she wanted wanted the 380 EZ performance edition in the gold when it came out. Well she got one for her birthday in October. Dang she is high maintenance:what:o_O

It might be time to put my foot down and get the 9mmEZ for myself:evil:

mrgunsngear did a review that seemed pretty positive. I prefer the size of my 9mm Shield and don't have a problem with the stiffer slide so the EZ9 doesn't interest me any, but I could see the appeal it may have for some folks.

My wife has the 380 and loves it. Think I will also get her the 9 version for ammo simplification.

If the street price is less than $400 this might get me shooting 9mm again. Thumb safety, grip safety, EZ platform, 2.0 trigger - all things I like.

The non-hinged trigger hammer fired EZ has a better trigger and trigger pull than a 2.0 Striker Shield in my opinion.

PS My Little Sister currently is carrying a .380 EZ so I'm going to suggest she give one a try when she gets an opportunity.

I shot one this morning at LARRY'S Pistol & Pawn (Huntsville, Al). They had a demo gun in the range and have plenty in inventory, I understand. I prefer traditional, metal guns (1911s and revolvers), but I am betting they sell like hot cakes!

I'm holding out for the S&W Shield 10mm EZ M2.0 or perhaps a .460 Rowland EZ (though a .50 AE EZ would be sweet too).

Seriously though, I'm sure this is an interest to many. I went the route of Walther's CCP for my wife that's quite easy to rack due to the gas-delayed system.

I'd imagine this setup would amount to harsher recoil than your typical (non-EZ) 9mm on a similar platform, though I'm sure S&W won't have any problems selling these.

I was on the AOBC (S&W's parent company) quarterly conference call a couple weeks ago and they were pretty exited about this new gun. (They did not give any details on what it was, although several analysts tried hard to get something out of them other than the fact that it was to be introduced today.) So when I checked the web site this morning, I was a bit disappointed that this was "it" as I was hoping for more. But, I do see the appeal for some.

One thing to consider... They mentioned that they had pushed out quite a bit of inventory of this new item in advance of offering it for sale. If you are considering one, but can afford to wait a few months, you might be able to get a good deal if it doesn't turn out to be as popular as they are hoping.

Can a platform designed for 22LR handle the recoil of 9mm? Or is the polymer frame the only part it has in common with the 22?

Is it the same size as the .380 EZ.
Are there any reviews out there? I can't find any.
This video has comparisons and although 9ez has almost identical side profile to 380ez, it's noticeably thicker, apparently:
