GMFlash,

If you are going for a Taurus M85, go for the Taurus M85SS3. The 3 inch barrel makes the gun much easier to sight, and the stainless steel weight while not heavy, helps to tame even +P loads.

Can't go wrong with a Taurus M85. I've got an older Titanium 38, but I'm sure the newer ones are outstanding as well.

MacGuyver77,

I love my S&W Model 642. It's lightweight with no trigger to snag on things.

"How do you shoot it?!"

Pardon, my misrepresentation. I meant Hammer; been battling a bad head cold and not thinking straight.

if this revolver purchase is meant for self defense...........consider a used (pre lock, pre mim) , but quality S&W snub nose .38 special.

there are several models. use 148gr wadcutters.

have your wife practice DAO. when it's time to take care of business, this is what she will need to do.

I believe I paid $425 for a S&W 638. It is nearly identical to the 642. The differance is that the hammer is shrouded instead of completely covered. It allows you to use your thumb to pull the hammer back for SA. The shroud keeps you from snagging the hammer on anything when you draw. (NOTE: When in SA the trigger is very light!)

she shot my GP101 and I took the Bersa.

her comfort level for weight (doesn't want it too heavy)

Is that a GP100 or SP101? Either way the guns you list are significantly lighter and will give more felt recoil.
