Wait............ that never happened. I must have misremembered.

Seriously, I do have a question for Rock Chucker Supreme owners.

I’ve been reloading on a Rock Chucker II for years and am completely happy with it. I have come into a very good deal on a RC Supreme and am considering it. The only negative reviews I’ve read have been regarding the spent primer catcher.

I see that Inline Fabrication and others make a 3D printed replacement spent primer catcher that sends the primer down a tube. Anyone tried one of these replacement primer catchers? How do they work?

Inline's products are a complete fabrication.

You started it :p

I purchased one from a fella over on Castboolits a while back. It has greatly improved my appreciation for the press in general.

It is a simple set up, clamp it on, slide in the drop tube, and go to town. I did however add in a short piece of 3/8" SS tubing with a flare on one end which I inserted through the top of a small 4oz bottle to catch the spent primers. When it gets full I unscrew the top and dump in my spent primer container and go on about my business. There are variances however in which size holes are in the rams. I found the first one that was sent WOULD have fit, but it was going to take some persuasion to get it thee. Then I got a note from the fella saying he had a replacement on the way which was a MUCH better fit. I feel he was johnny on the spot dealing with the issue and have no problems recommending him and his product.
Rock Chucker Supreme Primer Guard

The only thing I saw wrong with it is that I didn't come up with something like it sooner. Sometimes though it's hard to see the forest for all those darned trees....

The primer catcher that comes with the Supreme (RC IV) works fine - with a couple minor 'adjustments'.

1. If you aren't using the on-press priming attachment, the spent primer has an alternate path out of the ram. I plug that path with a piece of semi-rigid packing foam (not polystyrene)

2. The catcher may be pushed away from the ram when inserting or removing a case from the holder. Another piece of that foam, placed behind the catching part of the catcher, fixes that.

No worries. :)
