My XD-45 Tactical took the place of my XD-9 Service for bed side duty. But I also put my XD-9 Sub-Compact next to the bed after the day is over. Both have there cal. in Win. SXT loads.
Don't laugh. I used it to win a club charity steel plate match, and it beat guys using just about every other gun pictured in this thread. I figure it'll do the job well enough, if it needs to.
On her side of the bed is a S&W M&P in .40, my side is a Glock 22, in the closet is a Remington 870, on the floor are a large German Shepherd, and a psychotic mutt...we sleep pretty well
By my bed, I keep a Model 10 loaded with 148 gr LHBWCs on top of 4 grains of W213/HP38. I also keep a little pouch handy which holds a Star MOD30MI 9MM and two extra magazines. In addition, there’s a Glenfield 60 that lives under the bed.
The wild thing is that, given the time, I would grab the Glenfield first rather than the other two. It’s just so fast, accurate and easy shooting. I can't shoot anything as good as I can the 60. I feel that that little rifle loaded with 18 Velocitors would be a most effective mood-changer inside of a house.
