as for coke eating stuff:

when i was in 5th grade, i did a science experiement. i took four of my baby teeth that had fallen out and i had saved. (don't ask why). i put one in tap water, one in sugar water, one in vinegar and one in classic coke.

after 1 week,
water: nothing, tooth was fine
sugar water: could wipe off a tiny bit of enamel with your fingernail.
vinegar: turned the enamel into a white paste that rubbed off on your hands. about 1/4 of the tooth was gone.
coke: never did find the tooth. it disolved. i thought someone stole it or something so i tried again. checked after 3 days and only 1/2 the tooth remained. all gone in the full week.

coke does have its merits though, its great for disolving rusted-on bolts on your car so you can get them off. great on lug nuts. i limit myself to about 2 cokes per year.

as for the kool-aiderized bullets, i wouldn't want to put them in my chamber. i'd chuck 'em in the trash. and clean the heck out of that magazine with baking soda and hot water to neutralize the acid and disolve any remaining sugar.

when i used to manage the repair shop at a major bicycle store,
i would use coke to dissolve the corrosion that would develop between
a steel frame and an aluminum seat post

if you think coke is acidic though,
consider what yer stomach acid could do to a coke can...

Well, this experiment doesn't work if you have a wife with OCD.

She asked me this morning why I left an unfinished glass of coke sitting on the kitchen counter. I told her it was an experiment. She said "oh, thats what the nail was for? well I washed the glass and tossed the nail"

I asked her about the nail, she said it looked fine to her.
