I dont like the fact that politicians are trying to place restrictions on gun ownership for all americans but I do think the they need to place certain restrictions on certain groups. I think we as americans have a birthright to bear arms for several reasons. Of course the main reasons are for protection of self and family and for a means of resistance against tyranny.
In order for a group to protect themselves against a tyranical government then the members of that group must contribute themselves, and by "themselves" means that they would give their life for the cause. As everyone here knows one of the most detramental problems we have in this country is lazy americans who dont, wont, and have never worked to contribute to thier lives by providing for themselves or contributed to this country by paying taxes. They have sat idley by while hardworking americans pay taxes so that the sedentary can be sustained through welfare programs that they have never contributed to. Needless to say these people would not be any help if it came a time for resistance for if they wont work, why would they fight. A man is only worth the salt he earns. I have been a cop for five years and made many arrest. 95% of the people I have arrested are not employed. 95% of people who work dont cause any trouble because they are busy at work, and too tired for trouble at home.
I hate to consider restrictions on gun ownership but I feel that in order to possess a firearm one must be a contributor to society. That may be by proving that one is a productive citizen who actually works for a living. It doesnt matter what a mans legal profession is whether he be a CEO or the fry cook at mcdonalds. Or by being an unemployed college student who is working towards a productive future. It is very rare for a robbery to be committed by someone with a full time job. If someone wishes to be a leach on society and drain the already exhausted social security system; I think that it should be a felony for someone to possess a firearm whose use for the weapon would be only to take what he will not work for. That is how I feel and how I feel doesnt mean jack I know; but I was wondering how those of you here at thr feel about my thoughts.
