Hello everyone, I just found out about this one, and I'm very interested, especially since the quality looks way better than Chiappa's offering. While doing some checking on it, I found out that it's possible to replace the .22 slide and magazine with a .45 caliber one and have a fuul bore 1911. :what: What I'm curious about is, does anybody have one of these, and if you put the .45 slide on, how did it shoot? Also, is it possible to buy a ready to go .45 slide, and where can I find one, or will I have to put one together myself from parts? thanks in advance.

I've heard about the conversion to .45, but since most of my semi-autos are 9mm, I was wondering about a 9mm conversion.

The gsg 1911.22 can not be anything but a .22. There are rumers out there that you can change slides but you can't. Having said that Iwill tell you that this pistol is a blast to shoot and own. Me and a buddy of mine go to a friends farm I deer hunt on and take 70 to 100 guns of all makes, models, calibers and lots of ammo and 12 to15 of us shoot 6to8 hrs. straight, andthis gun gets shot as much as any of them. You will love this firearm but it is just a 300.00 plinker and training pistol on the 1911 format:D

I had one. Even such 1911 small parts as mainspring housing and grip safety are not "drop-in". OK for what it is, I guess, but I flogged this one off pretty quickly.

Huh, weird, on the video I watched it was a company rep saying that you could convert it. He was from Germany, maybe there was a cross up language wise and he was talking about buying the slide and magazine as a conversion unit, which they also sell.
