I had a 257ai, and I loved it. Brass lasted a long time, and I just liked the look. I'm not sure I would do it in a 223, because I don't need the extra performance, but I wouldn't recommend against it. I have considered don't it off and on for years, but today, if I was rebarreling my 223 mini Mauser, I would consider the 277 wolverine or the 300 hamr.
