Source for M1 carbine parts markings??

I just picked up a nice old carbine. IBM mfg. I've cleaned it and noted the parts markings and would like to know if anyone has a link to proper parts for proper guns. Tried a search on "M1 carbine markings" and got too much to search.

It's marked as follows:

No bayonet lug barrel: IBM CORP 10-43
Receiver: IBM CORP
Ser #: 3729XXX
Front sight: N
Operating rod: N
Barrel band: O (maybe Q)
Adj rear sight: JAO
Bolt: AOB
Trigger guard assy: IL (letters truncated)
Hammer: LTQ (or LTQ)
Safety: "EW"
Mag release: M
Recoil lug: WI (or IM) but the W sides are slanted...odd for an M
I-cut early stock: RMC cartouche crossed cannons
Upper handguard: RMC

I didn't pull the trigger itself out. Couldn't see markings if any.

I seem to remember RMC being a mark for Rock-Ola. Don't know if IBM made wood for the guns or not.

Very uniform finish and nicely old inside. Bore mirror clean. Insides haven't been oiled for a LOOOONNNGG time.

Also not sure if the old early I-cut stocked ones had adj sights. The last early I-cut I had had the flip up sight.

Any info appreciated. Just so many different markings on the parts makes me curious if it came that way.

Have you done a search for books on Amazon.com for the Carbine?

Don't know of an online source. There is a book 'M1 Carbine' that can sometimes be found, it has a section dealing with every manufacturer of the carbine and the various marks they used.

I don't know of an on-line source, but there is a book called "War Baby" by Larry Ruth, that has the answers to all your questions.

Very in depth with info about GI and commercial parts etc. Not cheap but about the last word. I think you can get from Brownells, or from some of the larger gun book dealers at large gun shows. I have several of his shop books. The GI manual reprints are OK for field stripping and basic maint. on your own gun, but are not for full gunsmithing of the carbines.
