I have an old (very old?) safe. The mfg is Herring-Hall-Marvyn Safe Co, sold under the "Tower" (Sears & Roebuck) brand.
Size is about 2' x 2.5' x 2.5'
When I rap on the sides and top it sounds like concrete.
The UL Fire rating tag and SMNA rating tags both say Class C... the SMNA tag also says "Spec: F1-D" I searched with no luck, perhaps these ratings are outdated. What does it mean?
It is also rated T-20, and I assume this means a tool rating, a 20 minute rating? What kind of tools are used for this kind of rating? Is this similar to the TL-15 and TL-30 rating of today?
It is obviously not tall enough for long guns, but will fit a good sized stack of papers and/or handguns and ammunition.
I have not used it, and I'm moving, but I'll hang on to it, if it is good for storing important documents?
What might it be worth if I decide not to keep it?
