Is the Spiller&Burr Cylinder the same as a .36 caliber Remington? If not where is the cheapest place to get spare cylinders?
Thank You
Tom Dooley

IMO they won't be the same -- the S&B has a raised ... "ring" around the front edge of the cylinder arbor hole IIRC.
I would not try to interchange the two.
Another thing; if the Remmie is made by Uberti & the S&B is Pietta ... specs may vary even IF the two cylinders were supposed to be the same size.

The Spiller and Burr cylinder is much shorter anyhow,so the short answer is ''no''. I have two Spiller and Burrs,a steel framed Remmie .36 by Uberti, and a brass framed, engraved .36 Remmie from the '70's,and even the two S&B's won't interchange cylinders. One is a Pietta, and one is a nice older Navy Arms.[Thanks, Ginormous!]My best experience with interchangability is with Cabela's Pietta Remingtons of recent manufacture.

Speaking of Spiller & Burr revolvers...you guys that own one...what type of accuracy are you getting?
I have a nice one made by Pietta but shooting roundballs I can't even get it on paper at 50 feet!!!!
Haven't tried the "real bullets" (conicals) in it yet.

You're welcome! Always glad to keep my eyes open for items others may have an interest in. Having had that S&B in my possession for a short time, I have to say they are a great pistol. The next one that comes along is going to be mine!

Bluehawk, that's strange,as I got four out of six on a paper plate at seventy five feet with round ball in mine, and missed it altogether [shot right under it] with the conicals.

''The next one that comes along is going to be mine''!
Ginormous,I don't blame you a bit.

Mine is still available ;)

I'm going to the Kansas City gun show held July 24, 25 and 26 at the KCI expo center. I may find a good trade or buyer there.

If I could get it on paper I would be able to see where it's hitting but so far no luck. I'll have to try and put up a target at closer range but thats tough to do at a supervised outdoor range. I'm sure it has to do with the front sight being so high!

Tomahawk, that's a really solid looking S&B. You've definitely poured your heart out into finishing that gun. Everything I have is for shooting, something I could never do with a gun like that. Good luck this weekend at the gun show!

That is,without a doubt the best finished BP revolver I have EVER seen. I hope you get something really cool for it,and that it goes to a good home...
