I though some of you might like to know what I found out about these fine pants.

I sent an e-mail to Sportif trying to find out where I can get more of thier pants. Here's their reply.

Dear Mr. XXXXXX:

Thank you for your recent e-mail.

Unfortunately we only made the pants you are referring to specifically for Botach and do not have inventory of this item at this time.

However, due to the popularity of the item we are considering carrying it in the future. Therefore, we will keep your information on file and will notify you should these become available.

Should you have any additional questions or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at 1-800-776-7843.

Sincerely,

Amber Patton

Yeah,

If you look at Sportif's web site most of their pants run from $25-60. If I had known Botach was the only place selling these pants, I would have made one big order. Dont's get me wrong, I hate Botach, but I love these pants.

I for some reason prefer these over my RR 5.11's. They are a lot alike, but I like the pockets better on the Sportif's.

I also sent Sportif an e-mail requesting another "run" and informing them that many members here would be interested.

Perhaps if enough of us send Ms. Patton emails, it will help convince them to gear up and produce more. Maybe offer them direct to THR members?

I mentioned the "attractive price point ($20.00)". . .

Hit the keyboards boys! And girls!

Gentlemen,
I carry Sportif shorts in my marina store and will talk to my rep about the possibility of carrying the 911 pants if manufactured.
I don't know quantities needed to produce line but will try and find out and let you all know.

Feedthehogs,

If you can get the price down to $20.00 I can assure you people will knock your door down. But I will add, me personally I will go as high as $25.00 and maybe $30.00 for these pants.

If you get with the rep, and they need numbers in order to produce, please post and let's all make this happen.

Now I feel like there is a possibility of actually getting more. Thanks for taking the lead Feedthehogs!

I am aware of the horror stories from some Botach customers, however I took a chance last March and ordered two pairs of the Sportif pants. Frankly, I was shocked at the overall quality of these pants.

To make a long story short, I went on a major weight reduction program right after I bought them (size 42" x 32") and am now wearing 37" x 32". I wore the tan pair once or twice and the dark blue pair never.

I don't want to turn this thread into a FOR SALE forum, but if anyone is interested in them, let me know...honestly, they're in great shape!

Sportif clothes are high quality, thus the price.
If Botach had them made for them and used sportif, that would explain the cheap price.
They might not be worth it. Still checking. Will ask for a sample to check out.
I won't sell crap. It don't pay.

Schuey2002,

Nbot Psychic, just plain smart. These pants are a good buy at $30.00. But I was stupid to only by 2 pairs at $19.99. If I only knew then....you know how it goes.

Nothing from Sportif on the 911's yet.
Rep mentioned something about maybe a copy right and Botach.
Don't know, still checking.

I too like the fit and the pocket configuration of the Sportif better than the Royal Robbins. I will be sending an email to encourage them to make more. I believe they could market them to hikers and other outdoormen as well.

I believe that Botach is getting better. The last couple of orders I received from them arrived promptly without any problems.

Wayne D,

You are a brave soul. I won't place another order with them. Not unless they are the only one's selling something I MUST have!

Say, got a catalog the other day from Duluth Trading Co. and it has a BUNCH of neat stuff that would cross over well for CHL. Long tailed shirts & t-shirts & Polos, a nice vest that looks different from the usual photo job, and some super durable looking cargo pants. Their stuff is marketed to construction type workers and electricians and straw bosses ;) . Prices are reasonable IMHO, and I plan on ordering stuff from them for the hubby soon.

I'll second that for Duluth trading company. Lot's of great stuff in their catalog: tools, tool bags, clothes, gardening stuff too, etc. Bought a work apron from them I use when working on my (and my sons') bikes, and a gardening pouch for my wife--holds cordless phone, pruning shears, gloves, etc. Nice stuff.

I would like to try their workshirts. I have one of the RR 5.11 Tac shirts (long sleeve) which is terrific, but DTC also has some nice, functional shirts as well.

Definitely worth looking at their catalog.

I guess I'm lucky:D

I've ordered four times:

1st time: No problems with the order, it just took a little longer than normal to receive it. I think about three weeks.

2nd time: Had to email several times to find out where the order was. Took about four weeks to get the order.

3rd and 4th times: No problems, received orders in about a week. These two orders were for the Sportif Pants.
