Anyone own one of these? I can get a 30 gun for $450 today. Thinking about grabbing one. Anything I should check for as far as features or to maybe spend a little more on?

Yeah, its electronic but that's all I can seem to find without paying $1k.

I'm not exactly sure which one you're talking about. But there are several safes out there with different name badges on them that are all pretty much the same. Probably all made in China in the same factory. I bought one from Sams Club several years ago with the "Winchester" logo on it.

For what I want it serves my needs. The grandkids can't get to the guns, it will slow down a thief enough that they may try some other place and it might save my guns if a fire isn't too hot or close to the safe.

Mine isn't going to provide the level of protection the more expensive safe's will and I suspect the one you're looking at is very similar to mine. As long as you have realistic expectations and know what you're buying, and if that is what you want, go for it. I have no regrets about my decision.

Trick is to buy the cheapest gun safe/cabinet and have it prominently visible then when the thieves break into the safe/cabinet, they will find it EMPTY ... Because your guns are actually kept "secure" some place else. ;)

Yes, I do have a "decoy" and not saying where the guns are actually kept.

Pretty much keep hands off of stuff, fire prevention, etc. I don't need anything fancy.

I planned on painting it to look like a plastic storage bin with towels in it.
