Just went to Springfields web site to look at their loaded series pistols in the aluminum frames.

Can't find them. Did Springfield stop making them?

They used to have models in 45, 40 and 9mm.

I own a 9mm and love it. Wanted to pick up a 45 or a 40.

Strange, I just saw lightweight 5", 4", and 3" .45s there.
No smallbores left, though.
Which is a pity, I had to Mixmaster a LW .45 and a Loaded 9mm to get what I wanted, and it shoots very well.

I'm really hoping that it's just an error on their web site. If not, I'm really going to be pissed.

RE: Lwt SA

I was looking for a commander sized lightweight SA and the only thing SA is offering is the Champion Loaded Lwt w/Novak NS (28oz unloaded) in Black/OD color (PX9149L). I bought it about 4wks ago from BudsGunshop.com, but didn't see any in his stock when I looked a few weeks later.

Keep you eye open on gunbroker.com, I suspect there are a few others out there (not sure if they stopped making them alltogether or not).

Not too crazy about the OD frame color, but I'll get it refinished in the future. By the way, it handles and shoots great :D

Just checked the site.

The 5" .45 ACP loaded lightweight (PX9104L) is still listed- about halfway down the page describing the loaded full size models.

There is also a 3" lightweight micro-compact (PX9804L) still there.

Also a 4" champion model. (PX9149L) There is also a GI version of this one (PW9143L).

They don't have their own area of the site, they are included with the other models of similar size and features. But they are still there as of 3pm CDT.

Px9149l

BudsGunShop does not list this model as in stock, and none on gunbroker.com either. However, if you want the 4" Champion Loaded Lwt, there is one listed on gunsamerica.com and one on auctionarms.com as well.

I thought they made a 40 cal in the lite weight frame.

I could a sworn they had the same frame as my 9mm (PX9505L) in 9mm, 40 cal and 45 acp.

I am sure they CAN make one in any caliber you wish.

As to whether they DO, as a general production item, is another thing entirely.

You can always call them and ask what they would charge for x model in y caliber.

Glock19xdsc

Thanks. I'm bookmarking that page. (also saved it off line) It has the gun on it that I wanted. (PX9507L) I guess I was wrong about them having it in a 40 cal. At least now I can search for that model.

I called them today and they have no production of a lightweight frame in a 3.5 inch barrel.

One of these days when I'm rich :scrutiny: I'm going to have someone chamber a 1911 in 357 sig.
