The few time I have dealt with SA their customer service was excellent, But it was no a cosmetic issue.

it's like getting a new car with paint runs and being told that the paint still protects the metal and it will be dirty and scratched eventually anyway.

This made me chuckle a bit because with one of the most common cars in the world, the Lada, this was very common.

Similarly, a SA is a fine gun but it’s not exactly high end. A good solid mid range, average, service gun, never meant to be a family heirloom.

So I see the "problem" but it's not. My XDE had that and I just ignored it as a plastic thingy issue. I shot the gun wjthout a problem. It's a tool not a heart transplant.

I can't comprehend this attitude.

You spend $600 on a firearm on which to trust your life. It arrives with cosmetic flaws. But you just brush them off? Why is the argument that it's just a tool so common?

If I spent $600 on a tool, then I would want it to be free of cosmetic issues.

A pickup is just a tool, but if you bought a brand new truck that had several runs in the paint or different colored fenders, would that be OK with you?

I understand a $20 screwdriver with a cosmetic flaw. Or a hammer. But a $600 pistol should be free of cosmetic issues. Period.

I think I'd just shoot the crap out of it and not worry about the plastic. it's plastic.

They could have scrapped the frame and sent you another. Woulda coat them what, .25 worth of plastic and $100 armorers time? They could have changed it I think.

In the first and second pics I can see it. Pust put some Talon grip tape on it, you won't see it and you'll have a better grip on the gun to boot.

I agree, Ruger's CS is excellent. However, for all the Ruger, S&W, CZ, SA, Browning, Rem, Ithaca and other firearms brands I own, I've only ones I ever needed to send back to the Mothership were my Rugers.

This is why I own Rugers. Two weeks is.very long turn around with Ruger. Best CS I hav ever espeiienced over. The 30 years I have owned Colt, S&W, M&P, Remington,Beratta, Taurus, and for the past decade Ruger.

The tiny area that is discolored is so minor. It's a plastic frame that will get scuffs and scrapes in it's time, get over it.It's a tool.

I would be upset myself even if the flaws were minor, $600 is $600. Like the paint job. You made the pistol your own. Let us know how it shoots.
